Assault at Whole Foods in Friendship Heights
Montgomery County police responded to a report of an aggravated assault at Whole Foods Market at 4420 Willard Avenue in Friendship Heights Thursday morning, March 26, 2026. The assault was reported at the supermarket at 9:47 AM Thursday, continuing the troubling trend of violent crimes being committed during daylight hours in Montgomery County. It appears to have been related to a shoplifting incident at the store, another persistent crime trend in the County.

ReplyDeleteNo comment? No media coverage at all.
ReplyDeleteI live in Friendship Heights. We get frequent notices about crime in the area. I would never expect the media to cover every shop lifting, assault etc. Crime is everywhere all the time. In this case Whole Foods probably didn't want the publicity.
ReplyDeleteTo follow up I just received a notice regarding the FH Whole Foods assault from neighborhoodalerts.com. It didn't name Whole Foods but it did give the Willard Ave. location. Whole Foods is the only grocery on Willard Ave.
Delete5:33 - WF isn't in charge of that. We have a few press. My point is none of these incidents are covered in local media. None.
Delete@ 8:36 - Dyer is living rent fee in your empty cranium.
Delete@JAC because simple assaults happen everywhere, every day around the country and the world. Someone trying to steal something and then punching someone isn't a big story. There are more important things to spend the airtime on.
DeleteIt's so silly. They can't run one story on the local news about an assault? How about a story on the increased incidents of violent crime then? Not one, ever? Of course there's more news to cover. But was the alleged sexual assault at the Bethesda Library covered on local TV news? That's not worthy of sharing with the public? So they cover the No Kings rallies but fail to every inform the public of violent crime? I see.
Delete11:34 - Another keyboard cowboy with nothing substantive to say.
DeleteJAC, set up your own web page and do it. Facebook has a MoCo police summary of events as well. Maybe just start ykur log here, and publicize it.
Delete@JAC the no kings protest was eight million people across the country peacefully protesting the presidential administration. Obviously the news is going to cover that. One story of simple assault is not statistically relevant to the county. It's a small blip in a sea of news. The alleged sexual assault is terrible, but again, is just a one-off event that is already being handled by authorities.
Delete@A Eight million losers protesting to stop Trump from enforcing existing law. Do you believe like Vanhollen & Murphy that the federal government should protect illegals over citizens? Start preaching your sorrows to the victims & families that wouldn't be if King Brandon didn't let over 14-million illegals in.
DeleteI’ve been to that Whole Foods. It doesn’t surprise me that someone was assaulted there.
ReplyDelete5:06 - So well said. Vsn Hollen would love nothing more then to have MD Man over for a July 4th BBQ.
