Montgomery County police responded to two assaults in broad daylight in downtown Bethesda over the weekend. On Friday, August 28, 2026, an individual was jumped by multiple assailants in the 7400 block of Wisconsin Avenue at 3:44 PM. The suspects physically assaulted the victim, and robbed them of unspecified property. Yesterday afternoon at 4:28 PM, officers responded to a 2nd-degree assault in the 4800 block of Cordell Avenue. No descriptions of any of the suspects involved have been released as of this writing. Both incidents again highlight the disturbing 2026 trend of violent crimes increasingly being perpetrated during daylight hours.
Shoot first, ask questions later. Better off with a non-lethal device though. This is not what you would call a pro 2A area.

ReplyDelete2 black youth were vandalizing and destroying property over at the small pond area between BUP HQ & Old Beall House lasto Saturday. They were heaving slate flagstone and landscaping rocks at the underwater lighting in the pond where the artwork obelisk has a waterfall. I waited, then went over and told them that I need quiet time and that I come here to "relax & recharge so I don't kill people." I told them to go somewhere else anywhere but here. I also mentioned that I was young once and did violent stupid sh*t. And the two yout's actually left. There was a point where I didn't know what the response would be, such as pulling a ghost gun or to try to gang up on me, they did neither, but I did have a hand on my trusty Gerber folding locking knife in my pocket and was prepared to use it because you just never know, especially around downtown B-town anymore. So as far as the header article report, I have no idea what went on with that gang-up assault, but folks around here need to be aware of their surroundings and be as prepared as possible. End of my spleen venting soapbox speech.
