Wit...The lack of local news is in itself big news. With the shuttering of Gothamist and DNAInfo in NY last week there are again lots of stories about the decimation of local news. Coverage is shifting away from “incremental” to more “consequential” news.<br /><br />Big losers seem to be local politics and crime coverage. What's needed is "balanced" coverage. Local advertising money is down, and that's pretty much the life-blood of local coverage. Right now it's like they're all struggling to figure out what works and what's the future.<br /><br />Guess I don't see the benefit of name-calling and income/expense suppositions and business viability. Even if one comes out of top, do they really? <br /><br />How you treat people ultimately tells all.
