An apparent burglary ring struck several more times in the Green Acres neighborhood Wednesday night, and the crimes are beginning to spread to adjacent areas in West Bethesda.
The burglar(s) broke-and-entered into four homes Wednesday night alone, three of which were again in the Green Acres community. In the most brazen case, the burglar(s) returned to hit the very same block of Little Falls Drive they had burglarized just two nights earlier.
This unusual crime spree has now spread to Westbard Avenue and Wilson Lane in Bethesda.
Here is the updated, complete list of incidents, according to SpotCrime, which retrieves data directly from a Montgomery County Police Department feed:
Friday, May 4:
Breaking and entering, burglary. 5400 block of Westbard Avenue.
(This would have been either a business in the Westwood Shopping Center, or the Westwood Tower apartments).
Theft from vehicle. 4800 block of Newport Avenue.
Sunday, May 6:
Breaking and entering, burglary. 4900 block of
Greenway Road.
Monday, May 7:
Breaking and entering, burglary. 4900 block of Little
Falls Drive.
Theft from vehicle. 5000 block of Smallwood
Drive.
Theft. 5300 block of Westbard Avenue.
Theft from vehicle. 4600 block of N. Park Avenue.
(This is about 2 blocks from the Green Acres neighborhood).
Tuesday, May 8:
Breaking and entering, burglary. 5200 block of
Westport Road.
Wednesday, May 9:
Breaking and entering, burglary. 4900 block of Little Falls Drive.
Breaking and entering, burglary. 5000 block of Keokuk Street.
Theft. 5100 block of Allan Terrace.
Breaking and entering, burglary. 5300 block of Baltimore Ave.
Breaking and entering, burglary. 7000 block of Wilson Lane.
These folks have put together quite a rap sheet in the last week.
Remember to make sure exterior locks, windows and car doors are locked.
Call police if you notice anything strange or suspicious going on. Burglars like this case homes in the daytime; write down tag numbers of unfamiliar vehicles with people just sitting in them, with no apparent neighborhood business.
