PIRJO TO CLOSE AT BETHESDA ROW

High-end European boutique Pirjo is closing at Bethesda Row. After 28 years in Georgetown and Bethesda, owner Pirjo Jaffe is retiring.

Over the years, Jaffe's clients have included members of the Kennedy family, and European diplomats thrilled to find the latest fashions from their countries on this side of the Atlantic.

"It's been a great run," Jaffe said. Pirjo is the latest, longtime Bethesda shop to close. Bruce Variety's current location will close forever at the close of business this evening. Pirjo was on the other end of the price spectrum, representative of the upscale and exclusive image Federal Realty sought to establish at its highest-profile development.
