Registration is now open for Bike-to-Work Day 2014 in Bethesda. Bethesda Transportation Solutions, the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA), and Montgomery County Transportation Solutions are co-sponsoring the regional DC event, and will be hosting a Pit Stop at Bethesda Row that morning, from 6:30-8:30 AM.
Enjoy a live DJ, food and drinks, raffles and prizes, bike check-ups to make sure your bike is in top shape, and a free commemorative T-shirt of your bike-to-work adventure. Win a killer new bike from Bethesda's own Griffin Cycle. And if you work in downtown Bethesda, nominate yourself (or a friend/co-worker) for the Bicycle Commuter Spirit Award now. You could win -"it's a major award."
The Bethesda Row Pit Stop will be near the corner of Woodmont and Bethesda Avenues, near the Bethesda Row Cinema and Capital Crescent Trail (Reed Street, for GPS purposes).
Get yourself ready for the big day by visiting BTS staff members in Veterans Park on May 1, or May 8, for free snacks, information, and a chance to register in-person. Veterans Park is at the corner of Woodmont and Norfolk Avenues.
On May 9, from 6:30-9:30 AM, enjoy free coffee at the Bethesda Avenue trailhead of the Capital Crescent Trail.
If you want to recruit a partner or convoy from your co-workers at the office, forward them this article by email, Twitter, Facebook, etc. You can use the easy buttons below this article to do so.
Even if you don't participate in the event, visit the Bethesda Transportation Solutions website to find out about transit and bike commuting alternatives that might work for you.
