New Arlington Road traffic signal activated in Bethesda (Video/photos) #DC

The new traffic signal on Arlington Road at the future 7001 Arlington Road apartment building and Ourisman Volkswagen dealership was activated for the first time yesterday. For the moment, it is only flashing yellow caution to Arlington Road drivers. Eventually, it will make it easier for pedestrians to cross to the Bradley Shopping Center there. We'll find out soon enough how well the signal is timed with the existing intersections on Arlington.

    Those lights are flashing "Hans Riemer" in Morse Code.

    Lol. Commenters starting to pull in irrelevant comments about Riemer almost as frequently as Dyer does.

    "Commenters"= one lonely,frustrated guy

    Most people visiting here aren't thinking about Riemer.

    I wouldn't call a councilmember irrelevant. He's very relevant, just not accomplishing much (according to the Post).

      Relevant to every topic dyer mentions him in? Maybe tangentially but hardly directly pertinent to the story.

    the war on cars continues with more traffic lights telling us to stop as if we should be told to stop for a bunch of commie pedestrians

    @9:57AM I agree that there's a war on pedestrians.

    Did you read Dyer's reporting on pedestrian safety in downtown Bethesda?

    1. 1:00: It was also good for a few bills at the County and State levels, as a result of my reporting on a serious issue that MoCo political machine apologists like you were trying to sweep under the carpet.

    @1:00 PM If you lived downtown, you wouldn't be laughing.

    The pedestrian situation has been terrible and dangerous the past year with the construction and related sidewalk closures.

    Dyer has been the lone voice reporting on it.

      The cars and bikes and pedestrians - every situation is getting worse. We just gotta figure out smart growth that accommodates everyone as best we can.

    When the "anonymous" negative commenter/blogger writes nasty stuff about Robert after 5pm, does he have to file for overtime from his boss? People are talking around town. #PaidToBlog #PaidToHateBob #crazy #NeedsAttentionFromBob

    I love the way that the truck driver sees Dyer, instantly shifts into reverse and gets the hell out of there.
