Window washers hang 13 stories over Bethesda when scaffolding drops (Photos)

The aftermath of a scary situation high above the Woodmont Triangle can be seen in these photos, taken after two window washers "self-rescued" themselves from scaffolding dangling 13 stories above Bethesda. Both managed to safely climb back into the building. Their precarious perch began to collapse to one side just after 4:00 PM Saturday. Montgomery County firefighters responded, but a disaster was thankfully averted. The window washers were working on the future 7770 Norfolk luxury apartments on Norfolk Avenue.

Those aren't "window washers". There are no windows on that drop. Dunce.

    1. 9:26: Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, said they were "window washers". Exact quote.

    People wash windows during construction?

    1. 5:41: Probably not, but scaffolding is used for other purposes during this phase of construction.
