Alex and Ani to open at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda (Photo)

Alex and Ani will be taking over the just-vacated Things Remembered space at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. You previously could buy some of their product line at Nordstrom in the mall, but this is their first actual boutique in Bethesda.

Alex and Ani products have a unique selling point - the bracelets and other pieces are touted as being infused with "positive energy." In fact, they are imbued with "positive intention" during the manufacturing process. The company's website promises that this energy will "empower the wearer and reflect the unique qualities of the individual."

If this sounds like the place for you, they are currently hiring staff for the new boutique.

    1) Actual journalists would label this "sponsored content".

SMH... separating gullible rich folks from their money.

    3) That said, Dyer could use some of this mystical magical positive energy. Maybe he would be able to engage Montgomery County's elected officials, and his own readers, in a more positive manner.

    4) "Ani" makes one think of the genitive case of "anus". Maybe OK in some furrin' country but not here in Murka, long may she wave.

    1. 1) I am an actual journalist, and this is not sponsored content. There has never been a sponsored article on this website.

      2) It's a free country and a free enterprise system.

      3) Odd to talk about "actual journalism" but then claim journalists should have "positive interaction" only with elected officials. Relentless positivity is not journalism.

      4) Low class comment that tells us more about you than about the retailer.

I can just see Janeane Garofalo working here in a comedy scene.

Customer (with conspiratorial awe, gazing at the necklaces adorning Janeane): And does it ... ? Does it really work? How inspired does it make you feel?

Enhanced Janeane: I'm blinded by the Light.
