DeleteIt's definitely not the MoCo Machine's "gain", though - you seem to have forgotten the machine has been trying to convince Lockheed to leave the county for years with crazy resolutions and legislative attempts to penalize them. Fortunately, they've stayed, but no thanks to the MoCo political machine. George Leventhal and ISIS agree on one thing - they both want defense spending reduced.

ReplyDelete3:03: A chickenhawk is someone who advocates going to war. That's different from advocating for sufficient spending to protect the country from foreign threats. How many on the County Council "ever served"? We have a local economic reason, as well as a national defense interest, to advocate for Lockheed's success. Embarrassingly, the County Council has demonstrated it has no grasp of either fundamental priority.

But if they're getting bombed by Lockheed equipment, as ISIS was last year, you better believe they want less U.S. defense spending.
