Bethesda construction update: The Lauren ultra-luxury condos (Photos)

There's been tremendous progress at the construction site of The Lauren ultra-luxury condos on Hampden Lane since my last update.

The building, which is angling to be downtown Bethesda's most exclusive address, will hold 29 units. Amenities will include a wine lounge and screening room (complete with sommelier), rooftop terrace, fitness center, and concierge service.

The Lauren is scheduled to deliver in 2016.

    The crane in that first picture looks kind of phallic. That should be good for a few gasps from the Fancy Men of Bethesda who nabbed blackberry macarons after their Brazilian waxing session at 28/8.

    What's bigoted about liking blackberry macarons and phallic things? Many of us like both. Although I'll pass on the Brazilian waxing.

    Anyhow. Yeah, they're working on the roof and starting the build-out on lower floors. Still quite a way from delivery.

    In addition there's progress excavating the foundation of the Toll Brothers project down the street-- whicih had been just sitting there for months. Rumor had it that there was some problem about the location of the limits of the lot.
