Longtime readers, or veteran downtown Bethesda diners, may recall that popular Afghan restaurant Faryab closes briefly every summer. As a small operation, the break allows staff to take a vacation.
A notable change this summer, however, is the lack of a clear reopening date. Three dots have taken their place on the sign this year. Perhaps it is because renovations are part of the closure this time?
Is this a Greenhill property?
ReplyDeleteanother scoop on dyer,
ReplyDeletei had an opportunity to speak with restaurant owner/building owner Hashem before he left the establishments for summer break for management and staff. As stated earlier Faryab takes a few weeks every yr in August to close and give staff a summer break. Its no secret that his business is down and only really has a good crowd on Fri and Sat evenings. runs with a mall staff and has low overhead as the building is paid in full. they are planning on doing some interior changes as well as making some roof repairs before re opening. should be reopen in 2 weeks or less
2 doors down i hear studio vape is out of business after a short stay on cordell :(
ReplyDeletedyer, can u confirm ?
We may be reaching peak vape.
ReplyDeleteNote that Dyer once again did not bother to contact anyone at Faryab, thus once again generating needless concern.
ReplyDeleteThe sign kind of speaks for itself. Closed for vacation and renovations for undetermined time.
