New benches have been installed for the recently added (January 4) stops on the Bethesda Circulator bus route. They include stops on Woodmont Avenue and Bradley Boulevard. You'll note they have been designed to double as public art, not a new concept in downtown Bethesda.

ReplyDeletePS: They took benches AWAY from the older stops, such as the one on Edgemoor.

ReplyDeleteI can't wait till Westbard gets its own Circulator. All those currently moribund properties waiting to be redeveloped to their best use will be just minutes away from the Metro.
ReplyDelete6:48: There's a better use for a commercial area than useful retail and essential services? If you think Metro is "minutes away", you've obviously never tried to make the drive OR ride the bus during rush hour.
DeleteWhat requires a landowner to keep running the shuttle once they have everything they want from the County?
Nothing good happens in Bethesda after office hours.
ReplyDeleteLove the art on the bench, especially the birds: Cardinals, White-Breasted Nuthatch, and Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker. All local (at least in winter for the Sapsucker).

ReplyDeleteWhat was the violation of comment policy about that 3am post I saw earlier that seems to have been deleted?
ReplyDelete8:17: No personal attacks.
DeleteI only walk in daylight between 9am and 5pm.
DeleteI'm scared of the dark.
I rely on Robert to tell me what happens after I clock out at 5pm and go inside for the night.
Any criticism will be labeled "personal attacks".
ReplyDeleteBy that standard, Dyer should delete 98% of his own comments.
8:30: There was no criticism in the deleted comment. Just a troll raving incoherently. Deleted.
DeleteSo if there was no criticism then how come it was deleted for you deemed as a person attack against comment policy?
DeleteIf we're criticizing the comment policy, I vote that the sapsucker joke be restored.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, it was a juvenile, insipid sexual comment which I found offensive. I guess he didn't think women read this site. Public spaces should be kept clean - why not?
