Butcher's Alley opens in Bethesda (Photos)

Butcher's Alley, a new market offering fresh meat, local dairy products and eggs, and handmade, grill-ready burgers, has opened at 4961 Bethesda Avenue. It is a new venture from its closeby neighbor, Pesca Deli.

As you may know, a stand-alone butcher shop is hard to find in this area, outside of grocery stores and a few delis. So this is a great addition to the neighborhood. Like Pesca Deli, it is located on the EuroMotorcars block of Bethesda Avenue.

Brilliant idea. I go to Pesca Deli often and wished there was the equivalent quality for meats from a local butcher. Do you know what they'll be offering? Local farms, imported, special types of meat, etc?

If only the parking situation there were better. I often have to circle a few times to find something.

    Aren't eggs dairy?

      It's a common misconception.

Coming from NYC where there are so many butcher shops, it was amazing to me how so many residents purchased their poultry and meat from a supermarket. This a much-needed and welcomed addition to Bethesda -- and given it's a Pesca Deli operation is a plus to me. Love the Pesca Deli!
