De Tapas, a new restaurant featuring - surprise - a tapas menu in the former BlackFinn space at 4901-A Fairmont Avenue, has applied for a Montgomery County liquor license. The
newest venture from the owners of Bold Bite next door, De Tapas is expected to open this spring.
Very excited to see this open. Would be more excited if it was called E-Tapas and offered preferential seating to patrons with electric cars.

ReplyDeleteI walked by Kapnos Kouzina the other day and it still had an "Opening Fall 2015" sign on it as I recall.
When is Fish Taco ever opening at Wildwood? Are we waiting for fish to spawn there or what?

Delete@11:25 Most of the betting involves those already open, about when they will close. Currently at the top of the list is Soup Up and Gusto Italian Grill.
ReplyDeleteI think we should add Chopt to the list solely due to the awful location. It's in the alley beside Paul Bakery. Only CCT users and people using that exit from the new parking garage will even notice it.
@10:42 I disagree with all of those predictions other than Soup Up. Chopt likely pays a comparable cheap rent based on its frontage and I see plenty of customers rolling through there. Gusto is a new concept to the area, but if Piada in Columbus is any indication this place will be booming in a few months and could have many locations in a few years.

Delete@6:31 The space with Gusto has only been failed restaurants since its inception. Before Gusto, it was Kraze Burgers. Have you ever seen more than 2 customers in Gusto at a time?
ReplyDeleteIs Gusto on the same level of quality as Olazzo? We get dinner from Olazzo once a week and would be willing to send the au pair to Gusto instead if it is any good.
