Another blockbuster brings another blockbuster cocktail menu from the bar at ArcLight Cinemas in Bethesda. The theater in Westfield Montgomery Mall is among the few in town that allow you to partake of adult beverages, and often has a special selection of themed drinks tied to major releases.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is among the candidates for blockbuster of the year, and the question of #WhoWillWin this epic battle is being hotly debated on the internet and around office water coolers.
You can pick sides by picking the cocktail representing your hero, or be like Switzerland and try all three. Just don't plan to drive home if you do so, or you may be caught by the local heroes of Montgomery's Finest.
Doesn't iPic sell alcohol too?
ReplyDeleteIs Dyer an alkie? He sure talks about drinking a lot.
ReplyDeleteIPic just down the street sells alcohol too.
ReplyDeleteI think what we all want to know is whether or not the progressive Bethesda family with twins will be in attendance?
ReplyDeleteI think iPic is nicer than Arclight. Better experience being at the more adult Pike and Rose versus the Montgomery Mall watery madhouse.
ReplyDeleteToo many high school kids at Arclight. IPic is a better drinking movie experience.
ReplyDeleteArclight? Is that like iPic?
ReplyDeleteIs this a paid ad for Arclight?
ReplyDeleteI think so. Dyer mentioned before they invite him for free screenings and such and he intentionally doesn't cover iPic because he doesn't get freebies there
Delete9:10: Wrong!! It's not a paid ad. There are no free screenings. What you're referring to is that ArcLight actually invited a wide array of local media to their pre-opening press event. iPic not only didn't invite me, they never even reached out with the most basic press release. It was PR malpractice of the highest order. I can't write about something I know nothing about, and that was totally on iPic to provide that information as a business.
ReplyDeleteTruly Stone Age media relations by iPic.
Meanwhile, shut up, you moron.
Oh yeah that's right. Dyer refuses to write about iPic because they don't invite him. Arclight does invite him. So he provides favorable coverage to Arclight on purpose.
DeleteIsn't there a name for something like this?
Moron! That's a good one. Thanks.
Our daughter and the twins love going to arclight with their friends. Personally, I do not like going to the movies because I find the floors to be too sticky, even in high-end cinemas like arclight and ipic.
ReplyDeleteWe have a screening room in the house, and I prefer to watch movies there, where we have more options for food and drink. One of our neighbors is affiliated with the academy and must screen films so that she can place her vote, so we are able to watch movies which are barely out of their theatrical release when she comes over to use our screening room.
More options for food and drink? What do you want, filet and lobster while watching a movie? What a waste.
ReplyDeleteiPic is the better theater on seating, although ArcLight had good selections of beer
ReplyDelete5:54, he's a shill for all things Westfield.
"Meanwhile, shut up, you moron."
ReplyDeleteHow can people be expected to take Mr. Dyer seriously with immature comments such as this?
What kind of "jouralist" waits for a "media relations campaign" to report on the news?
ReplyDeleteThe kind whose stories are swayed by getting perks.
Delete5:36: So the Post and BM were "swayed by getting perks" from iPic?
ReplyDelete
