Bethesda Row restaurant closes for "milkshake conversion" (Photos)

Five Guys at Bethesda Row is getting the chain's hand-spun milkshakes. the restaurant was closed yesterday for a "milkshake conversion." If you search on their website, you'll notice the Bethesda Avenue location doesn't have a milkshake icon right now.

Adding the premium milkshakes apparently requires some construction work, as I've heard of this "conversion" being done at other Five Guys locations. Among the mix-ins you will be able to add to your shake are bacon, Oreos, and peanut butter.

  1. Sweet. But I do like the potbelly shakes. Hmm. Choices. Choices.

The Twins love to go to Five guys and load up after a wrestling match. I hope they allow customers to bring their own supplements to add to their milkshakes.

@6:26 AM - I guess the twins have bad genetics that require supplements to enhance their athletic ability? It also makes sense they would need supplements to supplement their great diet of Five Guys.

The twins must be on the anti-Michelle OBummer school lunch program. Greasy burgers with large fries topped off with a large chocolate shake and a scoop of supplement, bam 2500 calories. You should consider a LEDO's stop on the way home for a late night snack...lol

Or the twins starve themselves to make their wrestling weight and want to eat something they don't eat while making weight. Not my kids, but indicting their choices vs. everyone else at 5 Guys is lame.

As competitive wrestlers, my twins do know how to manage their weight. As pointed out above, they have to in order to stay in their wrestling class. They are also both growing young men and it is fine for them to pig out on burgers after a meet. You should see them eat during lacrosse season!

Um, didn't "the twins" used to be female?

@9:41 AM - The twins indeed used to be female. Perhaps with all the publicity of transgender issues and the recent acceptance of Olympic Gold Medal winner Caitlyn Jenner maybe the twins relate more like men?

Thank you for the clarification. I can't completely trust my memory nowadays. Hooray for your family's brave struggle in the fight for trans equality!

You must have me confused with someone else. Our eldest has always been our daughter and the twins have always been boys.

Although as a progressive, I would support any gender they chose. I find people making a joke about that sort of thing to be, well, gauche.

I find people who use the word "gauche" in a negative way, to be handist. Not all of us were fortunate enough to have been born droit.

Does Dyer's Milkshake bring all the boys to the yard?
