Weapons offense at a middle school. Sad sign of the times.

@8:23 AM - couldn't a weapon be a small pocket knife or pepper spray or something else constructed for harm? Doesn't necessarily mean a gun.

@8:23 AM - This is 9:19 AM again....here is the law:

Anyone in Maryland carrying a dangerous concealed weapon who is not otherwise permitted to do so by law commits a misdemeanor offense. The term “dangerous weapon” includes nunchaku, mace or pepper spray, throwing stars, dirks, bowie knives, switchblades, razors, and brass knuckles.

However, the crime does not apply to anyone who carries such weapons in reasonable apprehension of danger. For example, a person carrying a dangerous weapon for self-defense is not guilty of this crime if a court finds that carrying such a weapon was reasonable under the circumstances.

    (Maryland Code section 4-101(c)(1))

Thanks for the law, but whatever did I say to prompt your ire? It was pretty damn innocuous. Didn't mention what kind of weapon or why. Just an observation.

@10:37 AM - 8:23AM Here....you did nothing to me! I just thought the way your comment sounded as if it was automatically a gun being used. For all we know, it could have been a gun. I guess what I am saying is if someone was arrested for having pepper spray on middle school grounds I wouldn't consider that "sad times" since I am sure worse has happened in the past 100 years.

Oh, okay. I see your point. Weapons just sounded so ugly.
