Sign installed at Sweetbay Yoga in Bethesda (Photos)

The sign is up and lit at the new Sweetbay Yoga, located at 5456 Westbard Avenue in the Westwood Shopping Center. There are also window stencils for the logo and a water/wave themed-design.

Build-out of the interior looks just about done, as well. Hardwood flooring has replaced the old retail flooring of the classic RadioShack store.

The studio is expected to open at the beginning of June. To sign up for classes, visit their website.

It's got that minimalist zen look. And they have more than just yoga. Wish them well.
    Namaste.

  3. This may be a yoga studio aimed at African American clients. The twins have informed me that it is very common in African American circles to call someone you like 'Bay'

I suspect the name is a twist on that phrase. Very lively.

Poppy is pretty politically correct. Sure, she can't spell Bae, but thats just more clueless than racist.

It's racism and a disgusting comment, not to mention factually incorrect.

I'm a Dyer fan who reads daily and I find your comment @1:25PM more disturbing than the poop guy's daily deleted comment.
Satire is not a free pass to be a racist (or homophobic; or misogynistic)jackass.
It’s not that I have no sense of humor, it’s that you’re just not funny.

I, for one, think that it is great that the New Westbard is striving to attract yoga practitioners of all races (and ages).

As opposed to the usual old out-of-shape white people who don't want to walk anywhere and don't want any "new people" living in their neighborhood.

Poppy's twins met a wonderful set of Afrasian twins at a "Twins Against Twincest" rally in Takoma Park. I'm sure that they will be doing many Sun Salutations and Downward-Facing Dogs in the New Westbard.

Ok, so the westbard nimbys hate Poppy because she wants to demolish their neighborhood so she doesn't have to drive as far as the mall for her favorite clothing store. I get that.

But for you Westbard nimbys to call Poppy racist makes me laugh out loud. Maybe stop protesting brown people moving into your neighborhood before you sling any insults her way. Just a suggestion.

    2:50PM What utter nonsense!
1st off Poppy is a fictional character penned by probably you, so her wants or needs are moot. Fact.
2nd I'm not from Westbard. If you keep promoting racism I'll keep calling you out on it. Fact.

LOL that 3:02 has to first specify that they are not from westbard before anyone will believe they aren't a racist.

I'm 3:02. It saddens me that you would attack someone for not being racist.

This could be considered a pop-up since they know darn well the center has an expiration date.

Poppy is a fictional character, claiming to be satirical, but in reality coming here to insult us all. And if you think I'm wrong, then you're just being played.

I got no skin in this game. I think people deserve to know when they're being punked.
