It didn't replace a failed restaurant. Qdobo closed that location only.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't quite make our the details on the menu from the photo. So it's all vegetarian? Not sure if a "big salad" will fill me up at lunch.
ReplyDelete3:06: There are options to add chicken sausage, salmon or mozzarella to your bowl or salad, but everything else is vegetarian or vegan.

ReplyDeleteI will never support a José Andrés restaurant because of his lack of respect for those who do not share his political views. At first glance, this Beefsteak concept seems to be a rip-off of CAVA our home grown fast casual sensation. I hope Beefsteak fails.

ReplyDelete3:06 - As Dyer mentioned you can add meat, but it's also not really a "salad" place (and nothing like CAVA, 8:31). It's more of a composed vegetarian meal. It's pretty decent, nothing too exciting but a nice break from the other fast-casual places I been to. It seems like a reasonable addition to an upscale mall food court.

G. Money is right – BEEFSTEAK is COMPLETELY different from CAVA and pure genius.
ReplyDeleteAt BEEFSTEAK when you come through the line, you'll encounter a first set of vegetables and AFTER the veggies you can add grains like rice, quinoa or bulgur, and sauces, like a spicy tomato or cilantro or yogurt.
At CAVA you select rice and sauces BEFORE veggies
BEFORE/AFTER – see? COMPLETELY different
If that’s not enough, take note that BEEFSTEAK provides beer and wine, but CAVA provides wine and beer.
It’s absurd that anyone would question the genius or integrity of the esteemed Mr. Jose Andres.
