Bethesda Valet cleaners to close

Bethesda Valet, a dry cleaners at 8010 Wisconsin Avenue, will close permanently on July 2. They are directing their customers to Super Cleaners at 4906 Hampden Lane after that date.

The building is scheduled to be demolished in the future, to clear the way for the Toll Brothers 8008 Wisconsin mixed-use project. Good advice: when you hear your dry cleaners is closing - remind yourself to pick up your clothes before that day.

When is this building actually going to start? Can't wait for this north end to build out. Flats 8300 with Harris Teeter and Stonehall are a great start!

What else is coming and when? The Aldon projects? They're asking for more density, right? The JBG project? The Westin and conference center? Gallery 2? Lenkin project? These are pretty awesome I can't wait for them to go up. Hopefully Greenhill starts building up sometime sooner than later too versus all these low rise renovations that sit empty.

Don't forget Douglas also has that empty two story building. Is it on Fairmont?

Surely this Toll Brothers project will really improve Woodmont Triangle. When will Lenkin, the Westin, Greenhill, Douglas and others follow suit? Particularly the Greenberg projects would be nice.

Who has that parking lot project between Toll Brothers and Bethesda Chocolates?

I think their downfall was the "We do our own work" sign. Why is it in quotes? Do they not actually mean it?

3:06 AM - Greenhill also owns a large chunk of that moribund shopping center in Glenmont.

3:06AM - What's your personal beef with those people? Did they not give you a job? Refuse your rental application? Take your issues to a site of theirs. Maybe someone/possibly you should send Greenhill copies of all your comments. You know, so they'll understand you better.

What's Dyer's personal beef with the county council, other magazines, developers, etc.? Does he have to have one to have an opinion about how they operate? And boy does he have an opinion.

Greenhill is occupying space in 6:18 am head and not paying rent. Poor guy, so obsessed with Greenhills success, and holdings he cant make his own way in the world.

Yikes. I see my(6:18's) comments have upset 7:27! I just asked why you have a bug up your butt about Greenhill/Greenburg. You are the one routinely making negative comments here. Why not tell them directly?

What does Greenhill/Greenburg have to do with Bethesda Valet? They didn't own the building/land before and they don't own it now. That's a fact.

If anyone's obsessed with them it's you. I just point out what I see. Which is a bunch of posts against them. If you did the same for other companies I'd point it out too. But you don't. So I wonder why they are such a thorn in your side.

Property owners and development in Woodmont Triangle is quite obviously the common thread commentors are discussing. Bethesda Valet being redeveloped by Toll Brothers. The property being in Woodmont Triangle.

Seems pretty obvious to a third party observer.

What seems pretty obvious is the disdain for Greenburg/Greenhill. Not other companies. If Greenhill/Greenburg aren't mentioned directly, then they're implied by an address.
So again I'm asking why. What have they done to warrant daily hatred? What is your particular problem with them?

Huh? Why would 9:37 be AK's fan? He called AK an idiot. What am I missing?

11:44 AM - Why do you keep pretending that your question has never been answered?

And what is your obsession with defending them?

  17. Anonymous12:14 PM

11:59 - I'm not defending anyone. I'm asking questions. Why does that upset you?

How has it been answered? Some vague comment that it's all about the triangle development? The article didn't name them. 8:39 was the 1st mention. That doesn't answer why there's hatred spewed daily by commenters here. G/G must have done something to you to warrant it.

What is your obsession with disparaging them? Why won't you answer?

1:32 PM The media traditionally is skeptical of elected officials. I know that's a foreign concept to the old MoCo legacy print media.

Spin it any way you want. The truth is obvious. You disparage G/G on a daily basis for no real reason.

If you were truly concerned about Woodmont Triangle, you'd contact those who could actually do something.

Plus, you have never explained why you are so personally invested in G/G that you rail on them constantly. What have they done to you? Is "why" such a difficult question for you? What makes you come to *this* site to harp on G/G? What do you hope to accomplish? Do you think it will change G/G business plans? Why not bitch at one of their sites?

"If you were truly concerned about Woodmont Triangle, you'd contact those who could actually do something."

Are you saying Robert Dyer isn't truly concerned with what he writes about since he doesn't ever contact anyone for comment before writing about them?

Nope. Not even close to what I said.
You're trying to distract to avoid the questions.

    These questions:
Why you are so personally invested in G/G that you rail on them constantly?
What have they done to you? Is "why" such a difficult question for you?
What makes you come to *this* site to harp on G/G?
What do you hope to accomplish?
Do you think it will change G/G business plans?
Why not bitch at one of their sites?

When's the last time Dyer sought an official comment from someone he is writing about vs just stirring up controversy with his "spider sense"?

Like Robert Dyer, I live here and care about my community. I care for retailers staying in business and succeeding and providing me with a place to shop and a vibrant area. Like Robert Dyer, I am happy to point out failings when I see them. Like Robert Dyer, I'm hoping to find out more about what G\G and others are planning in the hopes they are in the best interests of Bethesda. Like Robert Dyer, I seek to point out improper alliances and relationships. Like Robert Dyer, I write when I see injustice and improprieties and poor policies and planning.

Very noble! Maybe you can cure poverty and cancer too. Even the Pope says , "who is he to judge?" Don't think you are knowledgeable or capable to make your vision a reality, particularly when you operate in the shadows.
