Bobby's Burger Palace closed for 2 days in Bethesda (Photo)
Bobby's Burger Palace was closed Tuesday and Wednesday at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The first day, a sign blamed the closure on mechanical issues. There's no indication the closure is not temporary, but after a string of recent restaurant shutterings at the mall, any darkened eatery gets the Spider Sense tingling.
Don't know how their other locations do but this one is never busy. Don't know why cause it's good.
ReplyDeleteAnyone check the MoCo food inspections report?
ReplyDeleteTheir inspections or violations are probably notnthe issue. This restaurant is done. I guarantee it. I liked it too.
ReplyDeleteMontgomery Mall is really struggling to keep restaurant tenants. How many closings is that now in just the past few weeks?
ReplyDeleteAnd a few more will close too. Most because they stink but some like Flay may be closimg for poor sales but not due to quality. It was good.
ReplyDelete@ 7:05 AM - Five in just the past month.

#MoribundMoMall
Definitely. Montgomery Mall is moribund compared to Tysons Corner. NoVa has more Fortune 500 company headquarters and the tallest building in the region being built too.
DeleteI think they're open today. The online ordering is available. It wasn't yesterday.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it was a legitimate and temporary closure. It's good. I love Shake Shack but Flay has a good burger and I can get it mid-rare if I want which is the right doneness for burgers.

ReplyDelete"Gets the Spider Sense tingling"
ReplyDeleteYour "intuition" has probably cost this restaurant a few customers this morning.
Why not contact live people, to find out the real story, like a journalist would do?
8:59 AM Dyer is reporting breaking news and will continue to report follow-ups.
ReplyDeleteJust like a real journalist!
The traditional print local media folks are so sour...and late in reporting things.
Thie BBP doesn't even compare to the ones downtown or in College Park. Have eaten there three times. Once had paper in my burger (appreciate the extra fiber, but wow really?) and twice ordered medium rare and got well done. Service has always been surly at best. I love BBP but this location sucks. Good riddance.
ReplyDelete@ 9:10 AM - "Attaboy, Dyer!"
ReplyDeleteI've had similar issues there too. I had such a bad experience that they gave me a gift card. Next time in, I paid with the gift card given cause they screwed up and that order was messed up too. That's not good. Maybe that's why Bobby Flay was in there not long ago
ReplyDeleteMaybe these restaurants keep closing because people are weirded out by some creep with a ponytail walking around taking pictures on his flip phone mommy gave him 15 years ago.
ReplyDelete#scooped
i ate there and now my fingers smell like cheese
ReplyDelete10:43 What in the world has you so obsessed with Dyer? You're even imagining stories about him, walking around the mall, etc.
ReplyDeleteThat.Is.Troubling.

11:03 doesn't get how insults work
Delete@ 11:03 AM - Are you suggesting that someone other than Dyer took the photos for this article?
ReplyDelete11:03 AM It's a local blogger with the insults/spam here.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Dyer continues to publish daily causes the other blogger great pain.
Absolutely not. 10:43 is *imagining* Dyer walking around the mall, taking pictures, and how others respond to him. If he's not imagining, then he is watching.
ReplyDeleteAre you saying 10:43 is accompanying him on his photo taking trips? That he stalks and follows Dyer?
11:20 AM The anonymous nut has claimed to have attended public meetings in which Robert Dyer also attended, so yes, he does stalk Dyer that way. Never talks to Dyer, but watches from a distance. Weird.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think local writers who cover the same beat would get along better.
Who is 11:26 AM and why is he stalking one of Dyer's readers? What a weirdo.
ReplyDelete12:18 Reading comprehension is not your strong suit? Maybe. Or maybe you're just trying to re-direct the stalking comments away from you to confuse the bloodhounds.
ReplyDelete12:18 PM no need to stalk Dyer's stalker. He claimed to be in particular meetings with Dyer, but never spoke to him.
ReplyDeleteDyer attends the same meetings as Hans Riemer, but Dyer never talks to Riemer, but watches from a distance. Weird.
ReplyDelete1:41 PM Dyer often speaks at public meetings that include the council and has debated Reamer.
ReplyDeleteSo, we know both of them, now would you like to introduce yourself?
8:59. Today is Thursday, not the 2 days mentioned that it was closed which were Tuesday and Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it, but restaurants never admit they're closing. It's usually an abrupt goodbye.
ReplyDeleteSo "official comments" only mean so much.
i remain concerned about all the crime reports from MM.
ReplyDeleteIt does not appear that the MM mangers also read this site and see all the crime.
Concerned about crime too
Deleteits still listed on the mall site
ReplyDelete"It does not appear that the MM mangers also read this site and see all the crime."
ReplyDelete2:50PM Did your brain actually let you type that? SMDH. Yep, that's how all mall managers get their crime info - local blogs. We are so very lucky we have a local blog. If we didn't, those poor managers would never know.
Thanks to the brave commenters here, MoMall managers finally realize that their mall is moribund.
ReplyDeleteMaybe all of you should of called to actually find out what was going on. Place only closed a day and half was open on Thursday per normal. Said they had mechanical failures, why speculate and hurt business in the future. what a joke of a reporter.
ReplyDeleteThey're no longer closed? Hilarious, gotta check those sources Dyer
ReplyDeleteHis sources weren't wrong here, just his intuition leading him to shot conspiracy where there was none. Spider sense.
Delete@2:24 has a good point, but it's the responsible thing for a journalist to inquire versus speculate.
ReplyDelete1:06/1:36/3:08: The article never said it closed permanently. It said it was closed on two consecutive days.Factually correct. You're a "joke of a commenter". My Spider Sense tells me you're a paid troll, and still "Dumass material all the way".
ReplyDeleteYep your articles didn't say anything about closing permanently, but your spider sense was wrong since you implied there was trouble. :)
