Jennifer Convertibles on the way out in North Bethesda (Photos)

Jennifer Convertibles, a retail stalwart on Rockville Pike, has "lost its lease," and is liquidating its inventory. The furniture store is located in the Metro Pike Center at 11520-A Rockville Pike. Prices are discounted up to 70% in the sale.

Does lost their lease mean the landlord jacked it up when it came time to renew?

Is a new development going here?

    @ 5:56 AM -

Saul Centers West/Metro Pike Center project, covering that strip mall and the adjacent McDonalds, but excluding the Porcelanosa (formerly Anthropologie, Borders, Alcott & Andrews) site.

When the McDonalds is torn down, there will be no McDonalds between Western Avenue and Woodmont Country Club.

  5. Not a knock - Just curious what makes them a retail stalwart? They are "very loyal and dedicated" of "physically strong"?

Investopedia defines a "stalwart" as a company "that provides investors with slow but steady and dependable growth prospects."

"Retail stalwart" is used often to describe a business that has been around for a fair amount of time, dependable. For example, the NYT article (about 7 paragraphs in)
