Also, the tower crane is going up on the site. A few days back, an award-winning mobile crane joined the project. You can see that the supports that stabilize that crane are among the objects that are utilizing the sidewalk along the Fairmont Avenue side of the project.

ReplyDeleteLocal legacy print media folks are touting the fact that they log off at 5pm and don't cover anything that happens in MoCo in the evening. Really strange, even for a old weekly newspaper or monthly magazine.
ReplyDelete7:37 and 7:45 - Vulgarity is no substitute for wit. Grow up.
ReplyDeleteDo the developers get fined if they don't open the sidewalk by the target date?
ReplyDeleteJason - Probably not. Remember how Berliner's 2007 law was supposed to prevent long-term sidewalk closures altogether during construction? That's never been enforced, and now this is actually a weaker standard of having to post a sign saying, "Yes, we've closed the sidewalk if you didn't notice."
DeleteFunny how Polly Prissypants @ 8:00 am knows exactly what those two phrases mean.
ReplyDeletePolly Prissypants. Never been called that before. That's funny.
ReplyDeleteKnowledge is knowledge. I'm pretty well-versed in crude. And there's urban dictionary if I get stumped.
Thanks for your concern and have a pleasant day.
Is this closure on Fairmont or Old Georgetown? Yesterday they were doing work to the sidewalk itself on Old Georgetown, so people were forced to walk in the street. Today, Fairmont is closed entirely so no cars can get through.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the businesses on Fairmont -- it's like non-stop construction on that street for years, and I'm sure it turns away potential customers who don't want to deal with the hassle of going to their business.
Did your skin melt while taking photos in the daylight?

ReplyDeletePronounced "see-NAHZH", you Philistines.
ReplyDeleteIs this the biggest news of the day or is BM just #sleeping so you cannot come up with anything more interesting Robbie?
ReplyDelete11:59: You must have missed my two big scoops earlier this morning. And capping it off with a useful pedestrian and business update for Fairmont Avenue. Wake up.
DeleteCan 11:59AM translate his lament into English for the rest of us to understand?
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain to 12:32 pm what the word "lament" actually means?

ReplyDelete1:23: Good news, bad spam. I reported that weeks ago. #scooped
Delete1:23 PM If that's about Long & Foster coming to the Darcy empty retail space, Dyer reported that two weeks ago :)
ReplyDeleteFrom Oxford Dictionary
