Bethesda Harris Teeter sets opening date (Photos)
The new Harris Teeter, located in the Flats at 8300 luxury apartments at 8300 Wisconsin Avenue, will open on August 24, 2016. A pharmacy and Starbucks will be located inside the store, the first Harris Teeter to open in Bethesda (they do have one in North Bethesda's Pike District). Starbucks fans will like to scroll down to see the first supplies being loaded in for the in-store Starbucks.
Anyway you can help use your leverage to convince them to put seating in the courtyard to enjoy a cuppa or sandwich?
ReplyDeleteYes, Robert has that Woodward and Bernstein leverage. Very powerful. Powerful enough to get tables in a courtyard.
ReplyDeleteDarn, manager in Rockville said the 10th. Oh well, best grocery in town.
ReplyDeleteTrust Robert's reporting. He is the best. No one out scoops him. His word is golden.
DeleteYes! If you want the truth, in Robert Dyer we trust! Love this guy's blogging work. And without a need for income generation he is able to stay unbiased which is sorely needed in these parts.
DeleteSo grateful for this informative blog and this new store!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed. Mr Dryer's great reporting keeps me always up to date in Bethesda and Rockville!!
Delete7:27 AM Silver Spring, Wheaton, Glenmont and Aspen Hill too! I love the EastMoco news site. I read it every morning with my coffee. It seem like every morning there's news on some new development or retail/restaurant update.
ReplyDeleteGreat reporting! EastMoco finally has a news site of its own!
Elm, you follow all the different areas of Montgomery County that Robert blogs about? That's pretty diligent reading and following the guy closely!
DeleteI like the Teet at Park Potomac better than the OG Road one. Parking there has gotten bad, but OG isn't much better, and will get worse with the bike lanes.
ReplyDelete8:00 AM I love this county!
ReplyDelete8:01 AM everyone has need for income generation! I love this county and this country! The free enterprise system!
ReplyDeleteHey 8:00AM, I'm not Elm, but I read a bunch of local sites every day too. Different areas of MoCo, biz info, VA info, other MD county info, I even read the county council site.
ReplyDeleteWhy is that a problem for you?
Teasing Elm. Him and others poke fun at commenters all the time about being "obsessed" with Robert Dyer. :)
DeleteIs the other Starbucks closing now?! Someone please answer that question!
ReplyDelete@ 9:55 AM - No they will not close the other Starbucks. Employees of Starbucks in grocery stores are the grocery stores employees; not official "Starbucks" employees. The grocery store buys the marketing materials, food, drinks, and other supplies from Starbucks. Look at Harris Teeter job openings for this location. They need like three coffee baristas.
ReplyDelete9:55 AM - there are at least three free-standing Starbucks in Bethesda, plus several others in Barnes & Noble, Safeway and other stores.
ReplyDeleteAre the Harris Teeter Starbucks baristas better than those that Giant hired when they (briefly) had Starbucks? I tried Giant's Starbucks once (in the few weeks it was open) and the "barista" had no idea how to make a latte.
ReplyDeleteMy experience with Teeter Starbucks has been great. My wife goes every day in Tysons and the folks there know her and her drink.
ReplyDeleteHOORAY--can't believe they're finally opening, almost a year late. I'm moving out of state in two months...could've used this a lot sooner, but I'll enjoy and appreciate it for little time that I can. The Teet is sooooo much better than Safeway or Giant. Employees are friendly and they multiply coupons!
ReplyDeleteYep and it'll be empty just the way I like it. Why empty? Because folks are so loyal to either Giant or Safeway. Teeter is better. More expensive sometimes but not on all products. And if you "work" the coupons, it makes up for it.
DeleteI'm looking to never visiting the Safeway on Old Georgetown Road again.
ReplyDeleteThe 24th is the Grand Opening. Bets on when/if they'll be a soft?
ReplyDeleteThe customer service at the Old Georgetown Road Safeway has taken a nosedive since the new store opened on Arlington Road. At most two cashiers working even during peak periods, and barely competent. Be prepared to wait up to a half hour.
