Pedestrians will continue to have access to the sidewalk along Old Georgetown Road at the construction site of the Cheval Bethesda condo tower, thanks to this new covered walkway just completed. The access is particularly important to downtown Bethesda residents in the Woodmont Triangle and beyond, because this is a major pedestrian route for many walking to and from the Bethesda Metro station. However, the Fairmont Avenue sidewalk remains blocked off alongside the project.
Glad to see a developer can build and still provide access to the sidewalk!
ReplyDeleteNext up? The fun graffiti art.
ReplyDeleteI spit on your will to live Robert Dyer.
ReplyDeleteA dangerous blindspot has been created by structures for vehicles moving on to Old Gtown rd from Fairmont
ReplyDelete6:24: You are absolutely correct. I didn't notice this walking, but I just made a right turn out of there tonight driving, and it's almost a total blindspot. Very dangerous. I'm not sure what they can do unless there's a more transparent support that can be used. Bad to have a danger like that for 18 months. Personally, I won't be making that turn very often and recommend others avoid it.

ReplyDeleteThe3:59 comment should be reported to Montgomery police as a threat. The FBI should monitor as well as this could be interstate over Internet access..spitting on someone's will to live is a threat and in this day of crazies I would have FBI investigate and find their IP address.
Thanks for your blog!

DeleteI am happy to have the covered walkway. The developer/owner did not shovel at all this past winter - the worst part of the sidewalk on Old Georgetown from Wisconsin to Battery. Now they won't even have to worry this winter!
ReplyDelete8:34/8:36 is as much as a troll as 3:59
