Demolition update: 4733 Bethesda Avenue (Photos)

The jury is still out on what method will be used to demolish 4733 Bethesda Avenue, which is believed to be the tallest structure ever demolished in downtown Bethesda. But here is the demolition progress on the interior ground floor of the office building, which is coming down to make way for a new JBG office building.

"The jury is still out on what method will be used to demolish..."

Did you actually try contacting someone who is involved in the process?

7:22 - Thank the MoCo Machine Police. They would have arrested Dyer if he had trespassed and peeped anymore than he did last night.

Agreed. I don't know why Dyer reports on news after 4:30pm. I send the interns and freelancers home at that time. Nothing good happens in Bethesda after 5pm!

streetinsider.com had it posted an hour before them.
Anyway, it was a press release. No scooping needed.

Does the old legacy local media even have scoops?
I'm not counting reporting on the bankrupt businesses they own :)

I usually turn to Dyer for breaking news and a wonderful crime blotter.

Folks have rose colored glasses type nostalgia about the Gazette, but they never broke news either. No surprise folks stopped reading it.

Meanwhile, Robert Dyer's digital audience is surging.

Lol did Robert Dyer tell you that? This is still a heavily opinionated local blog with a blogger domain.

11:32am your rant loses credibility when you start off claiming 5 people read this site. Blatant lying makes me skeptical of anything that follows.

Everything you wrote can be debunked, such as that Dyer isn't quoted anywhere. I guess you don't read the Washington Post, Huffington Post, Eater, Washington Biz Journal, Yahoo News, etc.

Come on man, I hope that's not your best shot at Dyer.

11:32AM - Not every reader posts.

Why subtract Westbard NIMBYs? They are readers too.
Every house on my street has someone who reads this blog. There are 6 houses on my street. There are 3 who read within my house alone.

I love 11:32 AM's logic: "I troll Dyer all day in anonymous comments" and then complains that there are too many troll comments."

12:26 PM Yep, Dyer has much greater reach than old media like the Gazette or glossy magazines.

  16. Since there are a couple of apartment buildings directly across the street from this site, I would be very interested to know how the demolition will affect their neighbors.
