The only remaining stand-alone McDonald's in Bethesda will be adding at least one of the new features found in the "McDonald's of the Future." A new Dessert Kiosk will be constructed soon inside the restaurant at 5214 River Road.
This is one of the markets McDonald's corporate officials previously announced would receive the futuristic makeover in early 2017. Other features promised include touchscreen ordering, Signature-Crafted premium burgers and sandwiches with new toppings, table service, new decor and comfortable seating, and digital drive-thru menu boards. It's unclear if those additions will be simultaneous with the Dessert Kiosk installation.
What is a Dessert Kiosk? The only general statement McDonald's has made is that, nationwide, the dessert bars will offer their classic desserts, new "Premium Desserts," and McCafe drinks. The ability to customize sundaes and McFlurries will be another perk. But at the franchisee level, the items offered seems to vary.
At a "McDonald's of the Future" in St. Louis, the Dessert Kiosk has customizable sundaes and McFlurries, waffle bowls and cones, brownie sundaes, cookies, muffins and muffin tops Add-ins include cookie and pie pieces, and diced apples. But in Asian markets, the options are much fancier, including choices like Chocolate Macaron, Matcha or Horlicks McFlurries.
Now if we could just get McRib back...
Great place to relax after you pick up your boxes across the road.
ReplyDeleteWhich bumwines from Talbert's go best with these desserts?
ReplyDeleteWestbard is a great community to work minimum wage jobs in.
ReplyDeleteHow much did Mcdonalds' pay you to write this?
ReplyDeleteSave Westbard, NOT!
ReplyDeleteWEST WHAT?! WEST WOOD!
@ 7:27 am - Actually macaroons and macarons are two different things. But the idea of McDonalds offering the latter is laughably pretentious, like offering "McBeef Bourguignon". Poppy would clutch her pearls and run to her fainting couch.
ReplyDelete7:27: You obviously failed French.
ReplyDelete7:39: Zero, knucklehead. Big restaurant news. Sorry you slept through it.
7:16: More to come, instead of the high-wage jobs corporate headquarters might have brought to the Equity One properties, had the Planning Board and County Council actually been serious about economic development and smart growth. C'est la vie.
The dining room space is kind of limited as it is. Where are they going to put it?
ReplyDelete8:54AM Wow...seems you got up on the wrong side of the cage this morning. Hissing and slashing.
ReplyDelete8:54am - You're an angry elf.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous angry anti Dyer guy is the same guy who attended those public meetings with Dyer. He outed himself and is really looking foolish posting crazy stuff here.
ReplyDelete@808 Dyer- so you are saying that in Asian markets they have perfect french spelling? Also who in the right mind would check to see how ***macaroons*** is spelled there?
ReplyDelete12:33: "Macaron" is French. You challenged me, not the other way around.
