American Apparel closing, Rumi returning at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda (Photos)

Even as thousands of manufacturing jobs are returning to the United States after the election victory of Donald Trump, the country will lose about 4500 such jobs with the demise of American Apparel, which boasted the largest sewing facility in North America. All 110 stores are closing, including the Bethesda location at Westfield Montgomery Mall.

But the "closing sale" prices are definitely nowhere near liquidation sale savings. Discounts are only 40%, according to signage at the store. A true "everything must go" sale would be 80-90% off. I'm calling BS on this, and it's fairly clear they have other plans for much of their inventory.

Meanwhile, Rumi Tea & Spice is returning to the mall with a pop-up cafe where Peet's Coffee & Tea just closed on Level 1.

  3. 6:13: George Leventhal has treated women quite badly in public during Council meetings. Have you gotten his coffee yet, Guy Friday?

Liquidation sales never start at "80-90% off" on their first day, you cheapskate birdbrain.

If you only voiced the true facts, instead of the alt-right theory, your halff-assed blogging would at least be palatable. AA no longer made that crap in the "good ol USofA, they became a sellout to Gildan, a Canadian t-shirt and underwear maker. Some lose of jobs huh.

American Apparel was founded in 1989 and known as much for its edgy marketing campaigns, often featuring edgy models in minimal clothing, as its controversial founder, Dov Charney.Charney was outspoken about his support for worker rights and immigration reform, views which clashed with reports that he had sexually harassed and assaulted employees. In 2014, the board ousted Charney as chairman and CEO, citing the sexual harassment allegations and misuse of company funds. Wonder what part of the anatomy he was grabbing! Gildan and Dyer two loser poxes on the American landscape. YOU HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE ABOUT JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY.

      Intriguing question.

  9. 6:55: But nasty critiques of female employees' "body language" is exactly like that, and that's what George was caught doing on video. And the employee said she was offended by Leventhal's misogynist attack. You just made a fool of yourself!

Robert Dyer sullying the day on which we remember America's greatest civil rights leader, by calling his readers "morons" and whining that liquidation sale prices aren't cheap enough for him.

7:58 AM His hatred of Dyer doesn't go back to childhood. They go back to when Dyer's troll started his failed Bethesda blog a few years back.

10:15 Oh. Thanks. Did Dyer do something to piss him off? Make nasty comments on the other guy's blog? Or did the other blog just not catch on?

So is it envy or revenge?

12:12 PM You'll have to ask the former Bethesda blogger...the guy that was in front of his macbook all day, posting insults here and leading many weird discussions comparing the merits of Google's blog platform vs. his Wordpress templates :)

Dyer has created many jobs for folks blogging. They all fail but they should be thankful Dyer inspired so many folks to try.
