American Apparel closes at Westfield Montgomery Mall (Photos)
American Apparel has cleared out its store at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The struggling company collapsed after the outster of founding CEO Dov Charney. Canadian wholesaler Gildan bought American Apparel's intellectual property and manufacturing equipment for $88 million in January.
When MoCo Mall is finally dead, will it be buried at that cemetery in Westbard?
ReplyDeleteOh man, that's harsh, @6:01. Timely, but stinging.
ReplyDeleteThis chain was on the skids from the beginning, no great loss.

ReplyDelete@6:01 if they start burying overpriced clothing retailers in Westbard, the nimbys may finally get the support of Poppy and her friends in Somerset.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous6:01 AM, Another Smart A-- comment from a Maryland hating Good Ol boy Va tax paying B--ch, SMDH
ReplyDeleteThe day that Montgomery Mall gets torn down will be the same night that Tysons Corner I & II gets demolishef right along with Pentagon City Mall, Fair Oaks Mall, Dulles Town Center Mal and what ever is the rest of that d--- Springfield Mall.....
@9:51AM: Over-react much?

ReplyDeleteChill, 2:16. Landmark and Ballston will close first, then it's MoCo Mall's turn. Assuming Lakeforest doesn't beat it to the punch.
ReplyDeleteHaha...Montgomery Mall isn't closing anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, there is shuffling of retailers, but that is natural.
Draiman has had some long term vacancies right on Elm Street. No one is saying Bethesda Row is closing. In fact, Federal Realty has several big vacancies on Bethesda Row.
Malls are unsustainable in their current form. Long-term tenants are a things of the past.
ReplyDeleteLook for more short-term and pop-up type retailers. Some business plans include combining brick and mortar openings and online presence to get the product out and touchable, before easing out of the location and remaining online.
Anonymous2:50 PM, again the Maryland hating Scumbag think he funny but would be pissed to find ALL of the Malls in his backyard of Northern Virginia get demolished and turned imto cornfields....
ReplyDeleteWhere is this MD hating stuff coming from?
ReplyDeleteHow does #DEADMALL = MD hating scumbag?
