Mia's Pizzas at 4926 Cordell Avenue has been transformed into Alatri Bros. Owners Roberto and Riccardo Pietrobono announced that
the menu will remain mostly the same, but with some new additions. There will now also be a full bar - which should be quite good, if the brothers' nearby Gringos & Mariachis is any indication.
I knew they would do this. This place sadly may be finished. Too bad because its very good pizza.

I was just posting public information, but I guess they didn't like me upstaging them for facts they should have reported on in the first place.

@10:51 - Here's the thing, Dyer published his story on Tuesday, as the dateline says.
ReplyDeleteThe Bethesda Mag reporter notes he spoke to Roberto Pietrobono - the owner, in an interview on Monday. The Bethesda Mag story wasn't published until Tuesday, but the author makes clear he found out about it from the owner on Monday, before Dyer's story was published.
Bethesda Mag had the story before Dyer's post, so Dyer is wrong in asking they credit him. #facts.
If Dyer thinks the Mag reporter is lying in his reporting, he should call Roberto and find out if that's the case. If the mag reporter lied about when the interview took place, then Dyer should report that.
10:57: I will refer you to Washington Post veteran reporter Eugene Robinson again, who gave a detailed explanation of why credible news organizations don't sit on scoops and wait to publish them. If the Post has a scoop, they publish as soon as it checks out. This is just the latest of many stories (7770 Norfolk, Community, Tastee Diner, etc.) in which my original reporting has not been cited ("as first reported by Robert Dyer @ Bethesda Row," for example).

I don't even know which story you're talking about at this point, but neither required 24 hours of research to report other than to pad the number of words with filler. The Post went with the Access Hollywood tape while NBC News was "researching."
