Update: Pupusa Kitchen to open Friday in Bethesda

Update: They open tomorrow

Bethesda will finally have its first restaurant dedicated to the fine art of Salvadoran pupusas. The takeout-only Pupusa Kitchen is coming to 7812 Norfolk Avenue. This is the kitchen door of Hanaro, where chef-owner Wesley Yao will be making the pupusas, and from where they will be sold as carry-out.

On the menu will be cheese, chicharrĂ³n and bean pupusas. The pupusas go on sale starting tomorrow, Friday, March 17. They will be $3 apiece, or you can get 4 for $10.

Took the other website 3 hours to copy your article and not attribute it to you. They're slow these days, especially considering their office is about 200 feet away from it!

8:34 AM Readers here like when the Bethesda Magazine staff is scrambling to catch up with Dyer. It means they're busy and will keep out of the comments here :)

Big headline on Bethesda Magazine's site this morning:
"Can I Open My Spouse’s Mail if We Are Separated?"
    Steve?

    Dyer @ 8:38 AM -

"Plagiarism at its best from the "professionals" at the small and slightly-failing magazine."

Followed by: "Update: They open tomorrow."

LOL. Dyer has no shame whatsoever.

So how come the other place reported that it was opening today, before you did?

You initially reported that it was opening next Wednesday, then updated your report - AFTER the other place had reported that it would open today.

  8. 8:40: B.S. I updated it with the opening date BEFORE the other article was even written hours later. The owner TOLD ME THE DATE that morning. There was an incorrect day in the updated headline before I fixed it later, but the date was correct in the article. Stop lying.

I'm not claiming that the owner didn't tell you the opening date. But the fact is that you updated your article to report the correct date, AFTER it had been reported at the other place.

  10. 8:56: That's absolutely false. They copied my story without attribution hours later. Journalism 101. They're fake news and fake journalists who have apparently decided to just steal my content at will. Not a good way to establish a journalism career, to say the least.

You're so dishonest, you'd fit in well there, if you aren't typing from their office already, *******.

Why does Dyer get hate for pushing back on folks stealing his stories? The ARLNow guy regularly goes nuts when other outlets steal his stuff and no one complains.

He just went crazy on some local TV station stealing his phantom dog pooper story.

Journalists in general are protective of their scoops. Nothing new about it.

Please, please take a refresher journalism course. Our sides hurt from chuckling at your "journalism" knowledge. Honestly, I'm being nice here. Just like there's more to science than geology, there's more to journalism than 101. A refresher course, or your old texts, or something.

    Same ol' Bethesda.

Journalistic ethics aren't ever overridden by a "refresher course." You have to attribute sources. Period. Journalism 101.

Sure Dyer. Like you attributed your "source" for the rumor that the Wheaton Plaza JCPenney was closing, to some random TV station in California.

    1. 6:54: Citing one of the sources for the rumor is something to criticize? You sound like an employee of the magazine! I realize you're steamed that I was the first to report on JC Penney, the Rockville High School gang rape, and started the day with a Westbard scoop. Best advice: STFU and get ready for your federal prison term for stalking, harrassing and threatening me.

The Rockville rape story was published at The Other Place three hours before your story on RockvilleNutz. You're just like your hero Trump, lying faster than the fact-checkers can keep up.

    1. 8:30: That's again a flat out lie. Timestamps prove you have it completely backwards. I was the very first to report the gang rape on Rockville's leading source for breaking news, RockvilleNights.com.

The fact that you have to lie about the most indisputable facts shows just how frustrated you are at the continued dominance of Suburban News Network over the small and slightly-failing magazine and network of hobby blogs funded by the MoCo political cartel, despite all of the cash being pumped into them.

"the continued dominance of Suburban News Network"

Robert Dyer is a legend in his own mind.

I want to "LOL" but I am concerned for his welfare. He has become increasingly unhinged of late. I hope he has a responsible party who is able to look after him.

    1. 11:58: Nobody was covering hyperlocal news daily in Montgomery County before I did it. The Gazette and Bethesda Magazine had to try to change their business model to copy mine. Then the MoCo cartel had to fund a ragtag network of hobby blogs when they realized even 3 full time reporters couldn't match my coverage. Yet I'm still dominating in Bethesda, Rockville and East MoCo. Facts.

    Got any stats?

    1. 2:51: Yep, the real stats show a greater percentage of my readers actually live in Bethesda, compared to the small and slightly-failing magazine. Readers spend more time on my site, and click through to more pages, than on the magazine site.

Can you actually provide some of those "real stats"?

  19. Anonymous11:55 AM

8:03PM: I would think so. You have to click through to get to the comments, aka the real draw.

Is it possible that people from the other site never post here and it's all Dyer's paranoia? Just wondering.
