Bethesda construction update: Hyatt Regency Bethesda (Photos)

I believe some of these renderings posted at the Hyatt Regency on Wisconsin Avenue are new. The banner is touting the extensive renovations being nearly complete. With competitor Marriott building a new hotel a few blocks up in several years, these upgrades were needed to stay competitive.

This is a silly conversation to be having. Last time around he got spanked by both a democrat and republican. His views have gotten even more bizarre since then. My guess is very, very few people will take him seriously. I hope he runs merely for the entertainment value. Hans will destroy him again.

  19. 4:39: Hysterical. Last time I lost because the cemetery precincts came in strong for Hans Riemer, and the post pulled a fast one with a totally-misleading endorsement of another Republican candidate.

My views not only aren't bizarre, but line up exactly with those in angry neighborhoods countywide, regarding development, planning, and protecting established neighborhoods.

Trust me, people are taking me seriously. That's why they have you, one of their Guy Fridays, adding trolling here to his list of daily chores.

I will definitely provide entertainment value, as I wipe the floor with your beloved stooges in the debates. Hans won't destroy me again if the County removes the illegal voters from the rolls as demanded by Judicial Watch, and if we have poll watchers at the more questionable precincts looking for illegal voters.

Is that the reason for so many Westbard cemetery stories? Are you just trying to court the cemetery precinct votes?

    ReplyDelete
  21. 6:52: That's not the way it works. Illegal voters use the names of the dead-but-still-registered voters. It's kind of hard to actually vote yourself when you are dead.

Real talk: Robert lost in every election he's ever run in (to my knowledge) because he's alienated parts of the voting populace through his nasty comments on this blog, isn't well liked - as evidenced by at least a good 75% of the comments on this blog, apparently has small ideas based on his vote tally, and runs a more than slightly failing blog when compared to Bethesda Magazine. Let's be honest, Hans very handedly beat Dyer and a second candidate on the merits of his campaign...not some cucuckoo nonsense about the cemeteries coming in strong for Dyer. Let's put this one to bed...Dyer winning in all probability is about as realistic as 40,000 illegal voters voting for Reimer. Can we all agree on this? Good.

No one saw Hogan winning Governor.
I thought he had no shot either, so stranger things have happened.

Giving Hogan some Republicans to work with on the county level is a good idea.

      Delete
  27. 4:15: Yes, let's be honest - one small sweep of the election rolls recently in MoCo alone turned up 14,000 dead or out-of-county names that were expunged, according to the Board of Elections. That was prior to Judicial Watch's analysis that showed more voters registered in the county than there are people eligible to vote.

40,000 in a county of 1,000,000 is a pretty small number, to boot.

So it is totally possible that 40,000 illegal votes could be cast for Riemer.

The only nasty comments on this blog are posted by you, the troll, and don't affect voters' opinion of me. In fact, they hurt YOUR candidates, when voters see what kind of vulgar lowlife morons Riemer has working for him.

Lots of troll comments by one manchild doesn't equal "a good 75%" of readers. Nice try.

4:00: Based on the results of the term limits vote, about 70% of voters "don't like the Council, or thought they were a joke. Probably both."

8:08: The Post editorial board made up a generic liberal-Republican-style Mac Mathias platform for the candidate, and included none of his actual platform, which included tolling people for using regular commuting roads, and denying the minimum wage to anyone who wasn't a college graduate, proposals that would hardly spur a surge of voter support.

Their tactic is always the same in a multi-seat race - try to prevent a GOP victory by endorsing someone other than the front-runner to drag him or her down. This either worked, or the numbers were tainted by voter fraud.

I actually have noticed major voting results anomalies that I never brought up in the past, because I don't want to be a sore loser. But now that we have this new evidence of voter fraud in the county, I think those precinct results need to be examined from 2010 and 2014.

And that's another reason we need poll watchers at the precincts where that questionable activity seemed to take place for the next election.

11:10PM - Of course I understand how voter fraud works. That's evident from my post at 9:02. Splat: That's the sound of your attempt to ridicule my intelligence falling flat.

What don't you understand? None of those 14,000 names had been used for fraudulent voting. Period. No harm no foul. So the names get expunged and they come up with some procedure or policy to help stop that problem in the future. The Brennan Center for Justice has some good information on voter fraud.

  36. 5:59: Uh, because I was in first place in every primary and general election I've run in until the deceptive endorsement of another GOP candidate in November 2014 was run by the Post. Or voter fraud.

5:38: It has happened, I'm sorry to break it to you. Massive voter fraud. Brian Frosh and Ben Cardin talked about it last fall, and said to report to them immediately anything you see that's suspicious. That's what poll watchers will do in 2018.

4:35: You have an evidence-free opinion. Meanwhile, the Judicial Watch analysis, and precinct results anomalies from 2010 and 2014 provide actual evidence of voting irregularities and fraud.

14% of illegal immigrants report being registered to vote in a recent study. Put the 3 together, and you have strong evidence of voter fraud in MoCo.

I reiterate where you can find the accurate information:

The Brennan Center for Justice has some good information on voter fraud.
Part of New York University School of Law
    https://www.brennancenter.org/

I reckon they're infinitely more credible than Judicial Watch. You'd do well to browse their site and learn a few things about 2010 and 2014.

Remember that 14% you tout is really .124%. We went over (and over and over) this before. BIG difference.

I'll go by Frosh's most current statement regarding the 2016 election.

Did you mean when he said this last October?:
"“Every registered voter has a right to cast a ballot, free of unlawful intimidation, discrimination or obstruction,” said Attorney General Frosh. “Voter fraud, voter intimidation and voter suppression are illegal. Our office will do everything it can to ensure that our right to vote is respected and protected.”"

Judicial Watch was formed in 1994 as a right-wing organization to discredit the Clintons. per the NYT

Their strategy is simple: Carpet-bomb the federal courts with Freedom of Information Act lawsuits. A vast majority are dismissed.
The organization filed its first lawsuit against the Clintons shortly after its formation in 1994, and it pretty much never stopped. It is currently the plaintiff in more than 20 suits involving Mrs. Clinton.

I'll stick with the Brennan Center's analysis.

    ReplyDelete
  42. 4:08: Nope - I'm talking about what he said in November 2016: “'If you encounter fraud or misconduct, let us know,' Frosh said. He advised voters to inform an election judge at the polling place, the State Board of Elections, and his office if they witness or experience any difficulties or illegal activity while voting."

He's referring to exactly the sort of voter fraud at the polls that I am talking about.

4:20: Considering the illegal activities of the Clintons, the corruption of their foundation, Bill Clinton's rape dossier, and the trail of mysterious deaths the couple are connected to, including one in the news now, 20 lawsuits sounds about right to me.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Anna Van Horn6:25 AM

Oh, please. What was ACTUALLY said: (per the WaPo)

"“If you encounter fraud or misconduct, let us know,” Frosh said, speaking at a Prince George’s early voting site where dozens of people were waiting to cast ballots. “Voter intimidation and voter deception are still dangerous to our democracy.”

Cardin organized the news conference in response to warnings from national voting and civil rights groups, who say a 2013 Supreme Court ruling that struck down a section of the Voting Rights Act could lead to renewed partisan efforts to disenfranchise voters."
