A&B's Barbershop grand opening in Pike District today (Photos)

Over the last few days, in addition to being Bethesda's leading news source, I'm also the leading source of news on barber shop openings. Today, it's A&B Barbershop at 11520-D Rockville Pike, in the Pike District of North Bethesda. To celebrate their grand opening today, they're offering a $12 special. Walk-ins are welcome. And yes, they can give you their vaunted "fohawk."

To get your hair cut, silly. DUH...barber shops opening...fohawk..
    Coinkydink? I think not.

  5. 7:48: That would be the small and slightly-failing magazine. Let's hope they've paid their taxes owed to the county on their theater venture.

7:53: And what gives you the idea that I'm in need of a haircut?

I'm pretty sure that Bethesda Magazine is a completely separate corporate entity from the Jazz Club.

Where did I say you needed a haircut?
Sheesh, stop reading weird things into my words.

You seem to have replaced your sense of humor with hate. Don't do that.

    Is "Suburban News Network" incorporated?

  9. 8:13: You just said at 7:53 "to get your hair cut, silly." Asking what led you to believe I was in need of a haircut isn't remotely categorized under "hate."

Those who can't spell "fauxhawk" shan't be trusted to cut them.

We apologize for the mistake that had made from our sign company. We should double check before put it out there.
      We appreciate for your help.

4:31 PM - I don't know what kind of antediluviian phone you're using, but POPVille 3.0 and ArlNOW are both showing in mobile version just fine on my phone.

Say, aren't you that same guy who claimed that Bethesda Magazine didn't have a mobile version of their site? And that you could only read breaking news from Bethesda Beat in their bi-monthly glossy hardcover magazine at your dentist's office? And that you could only comment there if you had a Disqus account?

    3. 4:59: ARLNOW, like the failed and now-defunct Bethesda Now, did not have a mobile version, one of several reasons the Arlington-based Bethesda Now failed. I assume they added a mobile version in response to those failures.

Bethesda Magazine has a mobile site, but it's extremely bloated and doesn't work on every cellphone.

Commenting on Bethesda Magazine, unless you talk back to your bimonthly copy in the dentist office, does indeed require you to sign in and submit private information, including your IP address, to comment. No such privacy invasion is required to comment here.

You don't know what the phrase "IP address" actually means.

Bethesda Magazine does have a lot of (clearly labeled) sponsored content, and some "fluff", especially at the top of the page. But it's easy to bypass all of that to quickly browse the news articles - just bookmark the "Bethesda Beat article archive" page and use it as your default link to BB.

At 4:31 you said "desktop only", in reference to ArlingtonNow and POPVille 3.0, and that was clearly false. I don't know what kind of crappy phone you're using, but the mobile version of both those sites loads just fine in my 5-year-old iPhone.

To comment at BB, you are required to submit AN email address - you can enter whatever address you like. And the site does not insult you by telling you "prove you're not a robot".

Is PoP ok? I can't imagine turning my site over to someone who starts the conversation by saying: "I can do for you what I did to Borderstan".

  16. 6:50: Clicking on "Older Articles" at Bethesda Magazine makes you start off at the top of the new articles you just went through again. Pop-up windows, too. Extremely annoying.

I didn't comment at 4:31. I did say that ArlNow used to have desktop only, just like Bethesda Now. That is absolutely correct, and part of the downfall of why I beat them. They didn't have a mobile site, and I did. Period. It's the Bethesda Magazine site that doesn't work on every phone, not ArlNow.

You give up email address, and privacy information about your IP address to Bethesda Magazine when you are forced to sign in to comment there. Facts.

    6:57: No, I didn't, dumbass.

7:17: LOL. Wait for the Washington Post article after POP folds now, and they'll yet again cast a failure and collapse as another success for the NOW group as they did with Bethesda and Borderstan/HillNow. Meanwhile, they never write about my successful sites. Baba Booey.

Just use "Article Archive" page, and you won't have to jump through those hoops.

4:31 said "no desktop site". That is clearly false.

You can enter any email address you like.

And learn what "IP address" actually means.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 5:09: I know exactly what IP address means, and that is what is captured by them when you comment on Bethesda Magazine. That's how they can report or block a user, thereby having only positive comments on their site.

The guy says (self-proclaimed) arlnow and reston now are roaring successes. Same thing he said about bethesda now and borderstan, right before both crashed and burned. So, he's likely lying again.
