I was shocked to find that Carluccio's has closed at Pike & Rose. The UK-based Italian chain was one of the best - and most affordable - sit-down restaurants at the development. Their other D.C.-area location closed as well, so it's unclear if their difficulties were actually related to this particular restaurant, or corporate in nature.
Old news. Already posted on Bethesda Magazine four days ago on Wednesday with a lot more real reporting about the closure.

8:12: Wrong - the magazine only gave WBJ credit for the Alexandria location closing. In reality, WBJ had broken the story about both locations closing, and should have been cited as such.

The citation should have been in the first or second sentence of the article, saying the Pike and Rose closure "was first reported by the Washington Business Journal."

I assume English is your first language, but maybe not. The quote you cited is clear to any native speaker at 3rd grade reading level that it was deceptive.

Why is it that Dyer and his unsigned self just can't stop talking about local journalists?
ReplyDeleteOver at The Other Place, none of the 62 comments about the closing of Carluccio's even mention local journalists or Robert Dyer. All of the comments there are about Carluccio's, other nearby restaurants, Pike & Rose, or the historical name of the Pike District.
If Dyer wants to not talk about local news sites, then he needs to put his money where his mouth is.
