Renovations, new sushi bar planned for Woodmont Grill in Bethesda

One of Bethesda's top restaurants will be getting an interior makeover soon. Woodmont Grill, located at 7715 Woodmont Avenue, plans to renovate its dining room. Among the updates will be a new sushi bar area and wait station.

    Tastee hasn't been sold. Kaldi's isn't closed.

    Speaking of closures...Bethesda Jazz Club isn't closed...yet!

It's up to you to give me money to save it. Preferably cash.

Notice how Dyer never mentions Steve Hull by name in his signed comments, just in his unsigned comments.

Robert, do you have a report on the auction of the equipment from Kaldi's on Monday? Was it "everything", or was it just surplus equipment?

Also, was there a "Justice Tuesdays" rally this week?

7:10 AM You're assuming Dyer writes every comment that you don't write?
Did you call Dyer to confirm he wrote it? Gotta call to confirm, right?
    Operators are standing by!

  8. 7:00: Tastee reached an agreement, according to my source. They won't be "sold" unless Woodmont Grill sells too, Marriott gets the approvals it needs from the County, etc. Bigtime Real Estate 101. Kaldi's stated it was closing its doors, then backtracked publicly. Your guess is as good as mine.

7:08: Kaldi's ad stated "complete liquidation." They are publicly backtracking on that, but I have the screen capture. No Justice Tuesdays this week.

7:10: Every comment I post is under my name, unlike you, coward.

6:33: Source for Peter Chang coming to 4500 East-West Highway in the small and slightly-failing magazine? Just one example of them failing to cite a source. You didn't complain on their site, why here?

6:28: Haven't heard any agreement reached for Woodmont Grill yet, only Tastee Diner.

Hey, Dyer - what does "you have give up your IP address" mean?

    ReplyDelete
  10. 7:28: It means it is recorded by the small and slightly-failing magazine when you comment on their site, allowing them to report or block you, among other things.

Your site doesn't track IP addresses? So how do you know how many unique visitors you have? How do you know which visitors are "the lone troll"?

I feel terrible for Robert. Being the only person who knows Tastee Diner has been sold and all evidence pointing the other way. Gotta feel sorry for the man.

12:07 PM If the Tastee isn't sold, I'd feel more sorry for the owner. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to sell at that price.

I gotta say, man, declaring Woodmont a top restaurant seems a little odd. Last time I was in there, it looked like a Q-tip convention. Everything is creaky and old and tired. No way would I eat sushi in there.

    1. 12:30: Hate to break it to you, but Woodmont Grill has probably the biggest income of any restaurant in downtown Bethesda, from what I've heard.

Robert is it true the proprietors of Woodmont won't let you in, hence the picture from across the street?

That has to be the most unflattering photo of that place that was ever taken.

Did they decline to pay protection money to Dyer?
