Repairs on Bethesda Lane (Photos)

Bethesda Lane at Bethesda Row may be a pedestrian-only street, but it's still a street. As such, it needs repairs, as seen outside of Redwood last night.

Why bother being nice? Dyer finds a way to insult anyone who posts anything, whether they agree with him or not.

10:28 AM Dyer debates fine. Just leave your anonymous personal attacks off the comments. That's not asking too much

    @10:59 AM

If you think Dyer is good at debating, why does he delete so much? I understand the obscene, but he deleted someone in this thread who asked why the guy who gave an analysis of his blog and bethesda beat got deleted. Also, why did he delete that analysis.

I don't use personal attacks. If I disagree, I'm a liar, dumpster-diving hobo. If I agree, he still finds a way to insult me or accuse me of being associated with a group he doesn't like.

The anonymous negative former blogger is trying to take credit for Dyer's surging audience by saying people are actually coming here to read his sour, negative comments.

Amazing! He'll never give Dyer credit.

Agreed. Dyer does pretty well. Bethesda Magazine (admittedly a completely different animal) is off the charts in comparison, if I'm not mistaken.

It'd be nice to just be able to read the blog articles and not have to content with comments. Interesting thought...shutting down comments section

Blogs written by bloggers who hate Bethesda, and the people who live here, fail. One of many reasons BethesdaNOW crashed and burned.

Dyer doesn't live in Bethesda - or Rockville or East MoCo, either. He lives in Westbard.

And living in your parents' house for your entire life isn't exactly something to brag about.

The topic of housing and living expenses is one I'm surprised you'd want to bring up, considering the situations of Dan Reed and some of the local reporters.

Dyer creates a great forum for residents here. No need to turn comments off.

I enjoy the community here- the wit & wisdom of Roald, the crazy "anonymous" self proclaimed ex-Bethesda blogger, various councilmembers and County staff that drop in, etc.

    ReplyDelete

Robert, you remind me of the Lyndon larouche cult followers. You sound like a paranoid schizophrenic. I know you think they are "talking points" but they sound nuts. The mo county council is full of idiots for sure, but you're no better and definitely not smarter.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 9:45: I am 1000x smarter. That's why the Council slowly is adopting parts of my agenda - now proposing vehicle solutions to Legion Bridge congestion where they once said a "transit-only" solution would suffice, express lanes, Universal Pre-K, shuttle vans.

Additionally, I've been proven correct in my predictions, such as when I warned the Council not to rezone Long Branch for demolition several years ago, because it would discourage landlords from maintaining their buildings. The Council did it anyway, and last year, a building with 1000s of code violations exploded and killed 7. Damn, was I right!

So, yeah, I absolutely am better and smarter than those clowns.

@Tim, this literally has nothing to do with disruptive innovation. Dyer has no market share. Market share is calculated using (Total Sales/Total Sales in Industry). Dyer has no revenue.

Unique readers is not an effective way to calculate, since most readers (myself included), read many different sources of media.

@Robert Dyer, do you have any estimate on the number of unique page visitors use your site? I am very curious. You can set up google analytics on your web pages to keep track.

  35. 10:34 AM Study disruptive innovation. It doesn't say the disruptor will immediately have the most market share and revenue- quite the opposite. Dyer vs. the incumbent legacy entities is a classic example of disruptive innovation. Dyer started by serving an unmet need and everything else has pretty much else happened to form.

I'd recommend a few books to read up on it, but you'll probably just insult me so I'll keep quiet.

I've read a lot on the subject mostly from a financial services perspective. I get CNBC's annual disruptor list. I think there's been articles in Forbes or Economist and kept up with the Harvard Review guy (Chris?).

An innocuous comment like @8:19 and minutes later you're threatening them with prison.

11:56: Prince of Petworth indeed has trolls, although I doubt his are being paid like mine. The resident troll here is only one of two things (or both): totally insane, or being paid.

Only an insane person would spend their day, day after day, posting negative comments on one man's news site. Only insanity, or a large enough paycheck, would make the troll oblivious to the real possibility of 2 or more years behind bars in federal prison, the penalty for online stalking, harassment and threats.
