Grapeseed space now for lease in Bethesda

On Friday, I broke the story that Grapeseed will be closing July 29 in Bethesda. Now their 4865 Cordell Avenue space is available for lease to any restaurateur seeking a prime location in the burgeoning Woodmont Triangle neighborhood. The 3800 SF restaurant space is being offered at a rate of $35 per square foot per year, according to an online listing.

Robert, saying you broke a story when you simply regurgitated the owner's email is almost as sad as when you made fun of Councilman Reimer's masculinity at the debate. Don't be so arrogant... stick more to the 3800 square feet at $35 per...that's reporting (and I commend you for including it)...not the arrogance and nastiness so often seen in your reports.

  2. No other media outlet reported it before me, ergo I broke the story. Yes, Councilmember Riemer was indeed too cowardly to show up for the debate. A packed room of his constituents in Olney that evening angrily shared my concern regarding Riemer's masculinity deficit.

Again with the unprovoked masculinity insults. Disappointing that Dyer is so obsessed.

Information on the restaurant's closure was made public in advance of Dyer's blog post about it. Therefore, Dyer did not "break" the story.

  5. Wrong. That's like saying Deep Throat should receive a Pulitzer. First news outlet to report the closure was me.

  6. 7:58: Wrong. First to publish breaks the story. Just padding length with filler (which was added to their article as the day went on, after the initial rush job by the publisher after he saw my article) doesn't give you the scoop, or any real journalism awards.

    1. 8:21: The only reference I've ever made to Riemer's masculinity was the night he wasn't man enough to show up to debate in Olney in 2014. Well-deserved and justified observation.

Getting tens of thousands of votes from illegal aliens posing as dead voters doesn't qualify as "whipping " anybody.

Break A Story Meaning -- Definition: To reveal important information for the first time.

This phrase, when used in the news (its most common usage), means to be the first to televise or otherwise publish the story of an event.

Dyer did not reveal the information for the first time. It had already been revealed on Facebook and in an email to customers. Therefore, Dyer did not "break the story."

    1. 8:55: You're so dense that you didn't realize the second paragraph you quoted here confirms I was "the first to televise or otherwise publish" the Grapeseed story. The dictionary proves I broke the story. Baba Booey, *****.

10:10 AM Dyer had the first report on the closing. Other local sites credited Dyer with having it first. One publisher didn't want to acknowledge that-embarrassing, but it's his right I guess.

Now, is it time for your medication?

"Maloney Concrete" said, "3:20pm what do you do for a living that allows you to spend so much time commenting here?"

First, today is Sunday. Most people don't work on Sundays, or on Saturdays, either. And second, why do you assume that @ 3:20 "spend[s] so much time commenting here"? Which other comments can you verify that he or she made today? (I'm not 3:20, BTW.)

"Maloney Concrete" @ 6:02 PM - @ 5:40 PM here. As I noted previously, I'm not 3:20 PM. And why did you dodge my questions to you?

Did Tarnation Bob ever review Grapeseed's wine list on YouTube?
