Fish Taco to open at Bethesda Row, Urban Country moving one door down

Fish Taco is coming to Bethesda Row. According to property owner Federal Realty, the popular restaurant will move into the vacant Cosi and Secolari spaces on Woodmont Avenue. That will give the tacqueria 3186 SF of room in total.

Meanwhile, existing Bethesda Row tenant Urban Country designs will give up their prime corner location at Bethesda Avenue and Arlington Road, and move next door to the former City Sports space. The new Urban Country will be slightly larger at 7498 SF, and include a showroom, two design centers and six offices.

Is fish taco popular? I go there from time to time, but it's never that crowded.

Dyer keeps deleting my comments. Will try a third time:

The benefit of the current location is it's got that huge parking lot behind it. The new location isn't that great parking-wise.. the garage on Elm Street can take 10 minutes just to park and get back down to the street.

The new location is only steps from the brand new four level Lot 31 deck. Easy peasy to park in Bethesda Row at all hours. It’s free on weekends and very cheap at other times, compared to most urban parking decks. The lowest two levels are all most never used, for now. Of course 4747 Bethesda, Dean & Deluca and the Carr Apex office and residential towers will obviolsly utilize some of these available spaces, as they are purposely under parked on site.

The added pedestrian traffic in the Row should help the new location, compared to the isolation of being on the east side of Wisconsin, especially give all the construction traffic the will occur at the Carr Apex site and at the former Bethesda Poloce Station office/ hotel tower. The existing site maybe good for contruction worker lunches, but not so much for others.

Right next to the edgy new Joe and the Juice should help as well. The section of outdoor cafes between Bethesda and Elm is probably one of the highest rent districts in the area, if not the whole country. I hope they can sell enough tacos to survive!
