JINYA Ramen Bar to open at Pike & Rose (Photos)

JINYA Ramen Bar is coming to Pike & Rose. The California-based ramen chain has two existing area locations in the Mosaic District and Logan Circle. Its third will be in the ground floor of the L.L. Bean building at 910 Prose Street at Pike & Rose. The restaurant will open next year, and has posted Coming Soon signage at its future space. L.L. Bean, opening November 10, has also installed its permanent exterior signage.

    While I am grateful that you included only two photos, I don't understand how including the second photo adds any additional context to the article.

    6:16 PM Reamer is a bad councilman and has zilch in accomplishments for two terms now.
    Could be a swell guy, but he has no record of accomplishment (The Post agrees with this.)

    6:16pm & 6:21pm are examples of when you can't debate facts or issues. The anonymous angry man goes to his same well worn grievances and ad hominem attacks against Robert Dyer.

      Doesn’t Robert use same “well worn grievances” and “ad hominem attacks” against the county, council members, etc.?

      I mean “moribund” is a perfect example of your “well worn grievance” isn’t it? Among many others.

    Isn't deliberately misspelling the Councilman's last name, repeatedly, an example of an ad hominem attack when one can't debate facts or issues? Because of one's well-worn grievances against the Councilman?

    Federal Realty has had a golden touch when it comes to retail and mixed use projects (including Wildwood and Bethesda Row in this area). It now appears that FRIT has lost its touch and Pike & Rose has the makings of a disaster. Retailers are fleeing at an alarming rate and only a few seem to be thriving. It’s not clear why Pike & Rose is failing, but those who’ve assumed that building near Metro guaranteed success were plainly mistaken.

    @8:30 Which retailers have fled?

    Yosagi(?) the children’s boutique closed down. I imagine not enough business to go along with the high rent.

    La Madaleine closed a couple locations didn’t they? Never saw their audience as the urban garage parking type. Maybe if they had a spot in the pad site on the corner they kept.

    Not sure anyone has fled though.

    Also Carluccio's.

    But it seems that turnover has been greater in Bethesda Row of late.

    @12:40 Thanks -- looks like Carluccio's also closed their Old Town Alexandria store and they no longer have any stores open in the US.

    @11:42 Thanks as well -- you're correct that La Madeleine closed quite a few stores. And it looks like Yogaso's only store was at Pike & Rose, and now they're an online-only retailer.

    In this context I don't see any of those closings as an indictment on P&R's viability; certainly not an indication that the development is "failing."
