New Bethesda high-rise would replace 7-Eleven and EagleBank building in Woodmont Triangle

Another high-rise is being proposed for Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Bethesda, this time on the sites currently home to 7-Eleven and EagleBank at Wisconsin and Fairmont Avenue. The properties in question are 7820 Wisconsin and 7815 Woodmont Avenue.

This is certainly the right place for a high-density, mixed-use development near Metro. However, unless the developer brings back 7-Eleven on the ground floor of the new building, it's likely to face opposition from Woodmont Triangle residents on that count alone. This is widely recognized as the best 7-Eleven in the area, and it would be quite a loss if the owner can't come back, or find a nearby location to relocate to.

A public meeting on the project is scheduled to be held on December 6, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the cafeteria at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School at 4301 East-West Highway.

We don’t really. Only because Robert used to claim plagarism anytime someone wrote about a same topic after him.

How did the food at Rocklands Farm compare with the food at Maggiano's last year?

How come you didn't run your story on Lopez-Abrego on your Bethesda blog? Too racist for your Bethesda readership?

Best 7-11 in the area? What other 7-11 is in the area at all?

Delivery trucks and customers park on Fairmont Avenue illegally all the time. Customers backed into the wall so many times they had to replace it. They make a ton of noise early morning. Etcetera. Good riddance.

  5. 6:09: Uh, maybe because the murder happened in Wheaton? A factual crime story is never "racist." Your idea that only crimes involving white people should be published is definitely racist.

    6:03: I prefer Maggiano's.

6:20: Quite a few 7-Elevens in Montgomery County. Take a look at the online reviews for each, and you'll see this one is highly-rated.

6:05: Wrong! I only claim plagiarism when actual plagiarism occurs. Writing about a publicly-announced development is not plagiarism, old sport. Appropriating someone else's 10-day investigation on Dean & DeLuca without even posting a hyperlink in the first or second paragraph of an article based entirely on my reporting is indeed plagiarism. Tastee Diner. 7770 Norfolk switch to condos and back. Etc., etc.

Oh ok, I didn’t realize when you said for your Bethesda blog “in the area” you meant the large entirety of Montgomery County.

I always check the Yelp reviews before deciding which 7-11 to go to.

Robert, you realize 6:03 appears to be calling you a racist, right? Get the joke/reference?

How are other 7-11s spread across Montgomery County relevant to in the area of Bethesda? No one cares anything about 7-11 except convenience. it’s just there or not there.

I know. Probably because it does not seem to make sense. :)

To have a functioning downtown, you can't just have banks and restaurants that close early.
