The Home Depot Square strip mall, which includes the vacant Vince & Dominic's pizzeria, has been fenced off for demolition. Demolition has begun on part of the structure. The strip mall is located on Auto Park Avenue near the Home Depot and Westfield Montgomery Mall.
Bethesda favorite Vince & Dominic's closed in 2014, after 31 years in business.
6:18 AM is a big fan of the construction worker in the Village People
ReplyDeleteWhat is going there next?
ReplyDelete6:29 why are u using an unnecessary homophobic slur? Its 2018 not 1978
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDelete6:40: **** you, *******.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to federal prison for that attack on my Facebook page this morning.
V&D had been preserved empty for years. Good to see they are finally moving forward with creating a new space.
ReplyDeleteWhat's happening to the other end of that strip? Are the businesses over there, like Plaza Azteca, remaining or being forced out?
ReplyDeleteDyer is threatening someone with "federal prison", for noting that the Five Guys behind Montgomery Mall is still open? Wow...
ReplyDelete6:54: Nope, for his attack on my Facebook page for this website this morning. That's going to get him some hard time up the river.
ReplyDelete6:54AM - Of course! Doesn't that always follow inferring another poster is gay because they suggested Dyer's photos would be better taken during the daylight?
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for the coffeetable.
Who attacked you on your Facebook page this morning, Robert?
ReplyDelete7:03 AM The original poster wanted photos of construction workers. Calm down.
ReplyDeleteFive Guys is closing? That sucks! I go there for lunch all the time.
ReplyDeleteRobert has been threatening the trolls with Federal prison time for years. How many have actually been prosecuted or even charged? 0.
ReplyDeleteRobert, you get some good scoops but you gotta give more details or say you don't have any at this time. That entire center is going down? It's been known that Home Depot bought the whole thing some years ago. Your post begs one important question, what's going in there?
ReplyDelete7:21 AM These were vacant spaces. The Five Guys, Hair Cuttery, etc. are still there.
ReplyDeleteWhy are comments not enabled for the post titled “Tower Cos.' Brian Abramson joins Bethesda's Sandy Spring Builders”? Why do you refuse to answer this question?
ReplyDelete7:15: Five Guys is not closing. Just the vacant spaces you see here fenced off are involved.
ReplyDelete7:07: That's what I'm trying to find out, so the name can be forwarded to law enforcement. Got any leads?
7:15: You post anonymously, and Google won't let me see your IP address so you can be prosecuted.
7:21: I don't have ESP. They haven't said anything publicly. I can only report what the facts are, as you can see in these photos.
7:35: To keep you from posting your spam troll comments on it, you idiot. Get some testosterone pills.
7:21 - I know you don't have ESP but just report that you don't know at this time what Home Depot's plans are for these spaces and/or for the entire strip center. Mention that you've called and requested a comment on future tenants. I would imagine the whole thing will be torn down at some point.
DeleteThe MoCo political cartel attack on my Facebook page has officially failed, and their actions have been reported to Facebook.
ReplyDeleteYou can't post anonymously on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteWait... @ 8:30AM Dyer says that he reported the MoCo "cartel" to FB? Seriously?
ReplyDeleteHe told Facebook he was hacked by the Montgomery County Maryland County Council?
8:57: I wasn't hacked, and I didn't report the "Montgomery County Council."
ReplyDelete9:02: Why don't you step up at the next public meeting in person, instead of hiding behind a screen? The only number lower than your IQ is your testosterone level.
ReplyDelete...Types Dyer, while hiding behind a screen in Mom's basement.
ReplyDelete"The only number lower than your IQ is your testosterone level."
ReplyDeleteI can't picture Bob Woodward ever typing anything like this.
Don't you think it's just a matter of time before the remaining tenants like Five Guys, the beer and wine store, etc. get the boot?
ReplyDeleteOK, so you were "attacked", but not "hacked". What exactly happened, Robert? I assume you are referring to an unfavorable comment or reaction. What was the name of the person or persons who did that? You can't post anonymously on Facebook.
ReplyDelete9:14: Bob Woodward can't picture someone as cowardly as you.
ReplyDelete9:10: I'm out at the meetings. I'm in the arena. You've made a great point many times in the past about stalking me at these public meetings, but being too cowardly to step up and insult me in person.
9:21: It's been taken care of.
"Google won't let me see your IP address"
ReplyDeleteSo how do you know how many readers you have?
"It's been taken care of."
Translation: "I made it all up."
Robert, you are very weird. Your blog is so unprofessional and lame that you have to pretend you have all these "attackers" who are just cracking jokes because you're like inspector clouseau.
ReplyDelete11:01am unprofessional? You mean like falsely claiming Sears has closed and then deleting the article after being called out?
DeleteFor the "weird" and "lame" part- you clearly haven't met other local bloggers.
#UnsignedDyer @ 11:09 AM Dyer Standard Time - Why do you keep lying about what that article actually said?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.bethesdamagazine.com/Bethesda-Beat/2018/Sears-Files-Notice-That-Its-Westfield-Montgomery-Store-Will-Close/
And why did you quietly edit this article to remove the erroneous claim that Five Guys was closed at this location, and delete all of the comments that noted you were wrong?
11:47am lol... you'll never admit your Sears post was poorly researched and poorly reported. The original post is gone that claimed Sears was closing.
DeleteI don't need to go to public meetings to "stalk" the small and slightly-smelly blogger Robert Dyer, because I always go to Bethesda Beat for accurate and complete coverage the next morning.
ReplyDelete12:05pm sure, if you consider Frederick based interns rewriting Post articles to be "complete coverage" of Bethesda.
Delete12:18PM Be fair. This isn't ""complete coverage" of Bethesda" either.
ReplyDeleteAnd why do you always hate on BB so much? Who are they to you?
12:15 — You’ll never admit that the post’s headline is preserved in the URL. That’s to say — they never said Sears was closing. Why is this such a complicated concept for some people?
ReplyDeleteShady to say "update", but delete the original text and replace with corrections. That's not an update!
DeleteI could care less, but if you're going to ride Dyer, at least be consistent in criticism of others.
Dyer is doing his own thing, disrupting the old legacy media model. Seems to make a certain man very sore!
Actually, 2:56, that's precisely what an update is.
ReplyDeleteWho's this "sore man"? Why does #unsignedDyer and/or the various sheepshills always assume that this blog's critics are a single/particular individual? It's an odd paranoia.
3:29pm I don't know who the "sore man" is, but he posts the threats and stalkerish comments here. And he repeats himself. Over and over.
DeleteComments closed on the Canopy by Hilton article? LOL
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I just came to note that there's big restaurant news on Bethesda Avenue.
@3:46: Mr. Dyer will claim that report is "stale" despite the fact that it provides new information.
ReplyDeleteBetter late than never.
DeleteI don't know who the "sore man" is, but he posts the threats and stalkerish comments here. And he repeats himself. Over and over.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any "threats", just Dyer deleting comments and then falsely claiming that they were threatening.
And in terms of "repeating himself...over and over":
-"Glossy magazine."
-"Old legacy print media."
-"My dentist's office."
-"Dyer is disrupting..."
-"The genesis of...your litany of resentments against Dyer"
-"Hans Riemer peed his pants at the debate"
-"Attended public meetings...but too cowardly to step up..."
-"Go to his 'About Me' page"
-"Bought BN for $1"
And many more...but of course the completely delusional notion that Dyer only has one critic.
3:46: And now we can note you are a moron, because I broke the Bethesda Bagels story three weeks ago, dumbass.
ReplyDelete3:59: It's not just stale, it's weeks past the expiration date. Save me some time, and punch yourself in the face.
11:20: Did your report provide any details about the changes being made inside? No.
ReplyDeleteRead all about it, in our upcoming "Ethnic Dining Issue". Coming to waiting rooms near you Fall 2018.
ReplyDeleteThere's a reason the bloggers aren't allowed to write for the magazine...Sears anyone?
6:18AM - Why are you so quick to disparage a local business? Do you even know any of them? Know for certain where their employees live? Had any business dealings with them?
ReplyDeleteI'm perplexed why you think it's okay to lie about someone's business, as if you're an authority on it.
Remember the unkindness, dishonesty, and deception you display toward
ReplyDeleteothers...don't be shocked when it comes back to bite you.
8:36 AM And yet you are silent when personally attack Dyer but have never met the man. That includes you :)
ReplyDelete8:39 AM Not good to post anything the could be seen as a threat. Just sayin...
No, not really. This is Dyer's site. I talk about Dyer. Do you usually meet
ReplyDeleteeveryone you read online?
I don''t go to other sites and talk about Dyer.
Wait, this is rich....let's all take this in. Not good to post something that could be taken as a threat...you say this to me ...after Dyer's comment to 3:59 about face punching.
Honey, Dyer went to a website I don't read to assail me, a reader.
That's about as creepy as you can get.
9:00 AM
You can delete this but it doesn't change what you did
Karma.
9:22 AM Interesting you've never been concerned about some of the weird personal attacks against Dyer posted here. Certainly more toxic than saying most of a magazine's readership is in waiting rooms (which it is).
ReplyDeleteDyer deletes comments critical of him, then posts "anonymous" comments falsely claiming that those comments were "threatening" him.
ReplyDelete9:39 AM Generally, if you make unhinged personal attacks on someone and their family, proving you're at minimum mentally unstable and then punctuate it by saying "I know where you live", that could be perceived to be a threat. I think we can all agree on that.
ReplyDelete9:36AM, ah, but you're wrong about that. I started off here DEFENDING Dyer. Over and over again.
ReplyDeleteCaught crap from those calling me the paid shill.
I started calling the troll a "fanboy", started the "Dyer probably got a cease and desist letter" conversation about those businesses we do not name in print.
I posted his accomplishments and asked others what they'd done for Bethesda.
Any regular reader will remember those.
Then one day, I disagreed with Dyer's calculations...you know, numbers didn't add up. I was blasted as the troll. I explained who I was. I got called a liar and threatened with coffeetable violence. I explained again I was not who he thought. I was then called "personality" of his deranged nemesis.
So, dear 9:46, my answer to you is-- Been there. Done that.
11:25 AM Can you point to several of the comments where you defend Robert?
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Sure - from 2016 I was posting as anonymous @5:59AM and again at 9:52AM
ReplyDeleteJuly2016
I've got copies of most of my posts so it's just a question of searching for the text. Since I came back I've only posted under Anna. I've always claimed my posts. Just ask if it's mine.

You are seriously asking that?
He pens blogs with local information
He attends county meetings and reports the info to residents
He takes pictures
He gets involved in county issues
He's put his name on the ballot to try and evoke changes
Whether you like him or not, whether you like his message or not, these are things he actually does currently or has done in the past.
Now, what is it you naysayers have done or are doing?

You keep trying to trip me up, but I tell the truth, so it's more a question of how much detail I remember.
ReplyDeleteIt seems I also commented at 1:01PM and 6:02AM on the thread I linked to.
ReplyDeleteHave I passed your little test?
