Redwood still closed at Bethesda Row from New Year's pipe burst (Photos)

Redwood still hasn't reopened since a pipe burst got 2018 off to a soggy start for the Bethesda Lane restaurant. They haven't posted any updates on the remediation since January 9, the same day they also promised to host a Valentine's Day Four Course Dinner, which means they've got about a week to finish the job. Stay tuned!

  2. I wonder if they're having insurance/cash flow problems.

looks like the water damage was worse than initial believed. maybe they are also using this opportunity to do some remodeling/redecorating. Winter is a slow period anyway.

I hope they redo the bar so that it's a bit cozier.

Anna, in my experience it does take a little while to get the insurance settlement resolved. But I think the main thing here is simply that tenants usually underestimate how extensive water damage can be, and how much time it takes to properly make repairs. This is understandable: Redwood’s owners are experts at running restaurants, not building repair projects.
