TRUEBODY Bethesda, the long-awaited new gym in the historic Bethesda Post Office building at 7400 Wisconsin Avenue, will officially open next Monday, February 26, 2018. However, they will also be holding several Open House events this coming weekend at the facility, which has a modern addition behind the historic structure out front.
Stop by this Friday, February 23 (9:00 AM - 8:00 PM), Saturday, February 24 (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM), or Sunday, February 25 (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM), when you will be able to try a class or their 90-minute TRUEBODY Experience, tour the facility, meet the staff, enjoy food and refreshments, sign up at the discounted pre-opening rate, and - assuming you do - go through a member orientation.
You can see the schedule of classes and events this weekend, and sign up, on their website.

Looks like a nice very adaptive reuse of a fine old historic building. I’m glad they changed their mind and did not implement the small parking lot shown in the rendering, and instead added a nice semi-enclosed courtyard for outdooor exercise and meditation. They need to send out a guy to get the fallen branches off the canopy of the adjacent Metro elevator. I’m sure Metro won’t mind. As a neighbor, I would send somebody out with a bottle of Windex and some paper towels to clean up that elevator a bit. As it is right next to their building, and likely used by their clients arriving from the Metro, a bit of a clean up would be nice. It seems that Metro cleans that elevator once every ten years, if it needs it or not!
ReplyDeleteAs many in the downtown area, I live in an apartment with a great fitness center, so I am not their target market, unless I seek hands on guidance from a trainer. Most new office buildings like the Marriott HQ and 4747 Bethesda will also have their own on-site fitness centers with trainers. It will be interesting to see how this place competes with the much larger Equinox and more specific SoulCycle. I wonder if they will affiliate with the Hyatt next door to offer options for travelers. You know a nice bone in ribeye from Morton’s, then burn it off at Truebody.
It sure took them a long time to get this thinks open. I hope they succeed.
Good points.
ReplyDeleteMany apartment buildings have a fitness room, but don't have professional trainers on staff for support.

ReplyDeleteIs that Eastern time or Dyer time?
Just in time to get that beach bod ready before Bethesdans head for their favorite summer destinations: Bethany, Dewey, and Rehoboth! It’s well-known that the majority of MoCo residents prefer these beaches above all others.
ReplyDelete7:58: Spoken like a true carpetbagger who doesn't know Ocean City is the top beach destination for Montgomery County.
ReplyDeleteThat’s wrong, Dyer. It’s well-known that MoCo residents prefer the beaches up north. I said it’s well-known! Therefore it’s true! Can’t argue with that, Saul Alinsky.
ReplyDeleteOcean City is Langley Park by the Sea.
ReplyDeleteWhere MS-13 goes to chill after a hard week of raping and robbing.
I vacay at Martha's vineyard. I wouldn't step foot in Ocean City.
ReplyDeleteAll the beach talk has me thinking I'll check out this gym to work on my beach body.
ReplyDeleteSo can we finally say good-bye to the construction trucks that block the left-most lane of Montgomery Avenue almost every day? It's a real pain in the evening rush.
ReplyDeleteDelayed opening by years and already 1 name change - I hope they are successful, but not holding my breath. I wonder how many monthly memberships they need to sell to make it viable?
ReplyDeleteI think they'll siphon business away from Equinox, which has gone downhill. Sitting on top of metro is also a plus.
