A drilling company blocked the sidewalk and a pedestrian entrance to a public parking garage on Cordell Avenue last evening. No actual work was being done at the time, and the area was simply blocked off and left unattended. No signage was posted to explain to the public what the heck is going on.
7:08 AM Neighborhood news is good.
ReplyDeleteIf you're in Frederick, maybe you don't care as much about Bethesda :)
If 20 feet of sidewalk is closed, I don't spend an entire evening staring at it helplessly. I just walk around it and continue on my way.
ReplyDelete7:28 AM Be glad you're able bodied I guess.
ReplyDeleteEither way, it doesn't make sense to close off the pedestrian entrance/exit to the garage if no work was being done.
Loving Mr. Dyer's constituent service!
ReplyDeleteYou can block a sidewalk for two weeks without a permit. It looks like the meters were bagged, so someone approved that. If you're a builder, you can get the meters bagged and obtain exclusive use of those parking spaces without charge.

Did you find out anything about this minor sidewalk blockage, Robert? It's been a day and several hours. A whole business day in which you could have contacted live people has passed.
