Sign installed at Thelo Greek Grill (Photos)

The sign is up on the front of Thelo Greek Grill, opening soon at 8009 Norfolk Avenue. It replaces the recently-closed Bistro LaZeez. They are currently still hiring for all positions.

    6:25 & 6:26: it's hyperlocal journalism, my friend.

Now go and pick up the councilman's dry cleaning before he throws a tantrum again.

As I don't get to that part of town frequently, I was unaware a new Greek place was getting ready to open. Yay! I for one appreciate the heads up. :) #hatersbegone #whatswrongwithyoupeople

    Randy:

I think everyone agrees Montgomery County is pretty bad at attracting private sector employers, but instead of engaging in rational discourse or proposing solutions, all Dyer has been doing is flinging personal insults at any and everyone, and spreading conspiracy theories.

He even goes as far to attack the very companies that are critical to improving the county's economy like Amazon, Marriott, and various developers.

8:04am Dyer hasn't insulted Marriott or Amazon. I call BS on that.

In politics, you have debate and contrast positions with other candidates.

Dyer has not attacked Hams Riemer personally, just on his lousy record.

Meanwhile, Hans Riemer supporters have called Dyer every name in the book, made weird attempts to threaten his family, etc.

      Get some perspective.

      Delete
  7. No, people you call Riemer supporters. Anyone who disagrees with Dyer you label as a Riemer supporter.

I for one have been very vocal about not liking Mr. Reimer. As have many others.

    Get some perspective.

  8. 8:14 AM Plenty of other hyperlocal news sources in DC, Arlington, etc. have the same reports. No one is calling them voyeurs. Get a grip.

8:19 AM My question as a resident to Hans Riemer is: Will he publically disavow his supporters threats against Mr. Dyer? It's relevant and goes to judgement. (Riemer has been arrested earlier this year and has shown poor leadership).

But that is a side show. The main issue is the County's economy, which has rapidly declined over the term of the current old Council. We simply can't have Riemer elected back in if he can't even accept the problem. Dyer has diagnosed the problems and is on the campaign trail now with a prescription to solve it.

8:22 AM Plenty of reports on those DC and Arlington sites without "phone calls". Sears was reported closed in Bethesda without any phone call and you weren't complaining.

Dyer and his family have been threatened by Hans' supporters here. Strange that Hans wants to target Robert's family, but I guess it shows how low he'll go.

  11. 8:27AM...really? can you link me to some? This really is the only local blog I read, unless someone links to a story or something.

If Dyer's family was actually threatened, why aren't there reports and warnings? The man is running for county council for heacven's sake. That would be a serious thing! The Bethesda MCPD doesn't know about these reports of threats...I asked. Get off your duff and report it!

If that's true and given all the things said against Riemer here...it's a good thing the council building has those metal detectors!

You either haven't been reading through the comments on this blog often - in which case I don't blame you since I've been visiting this blog less and less - or you're lying.

Dyer has called county council members and readers every single insult ever used by kids in grade school. There are trolls - who seem to enjoy getting Dyer riled up - but they are in the minority of readers.

9:14am schoolyard insults are one thing (yes, Hans is low energy). Calling a journalist a rapist, mentally ill and threatening their family is quite another (defamation and harassment).

      Delete
  15. Again I ask...threatening how? What do they threaten?

What makes you claim they're Hans supporters and what makes you demand that Hans Riemer disavow them? You honestly think the Council President is purposely instructing his people to insult Dyer on his little blog?

Calling someone mentally ill is not a threat and if it's defamation then Dyer is the guiltiest of all.

If there are real, actual, verifiable threats against Dyer's family then why hasn't it been reported to the authorities? Get off your duff and report it!

  16. There some fault on both sides of the Dyer-divide as to why this comment section gets uncivil at times. That being said, we all keep coming back so everyone clearly enjoys it.

The article effectively shows that whoever is running this county is doing a terrible job:
    1) There are five (5) net new businesses in the county since 2011
    2) The county ran a $5.6 billlion deficit in 2016.
    3) Appears to be a consensus that red-tape regulations are killing businesses here (this is coming from the Washington Post, which doesn't often assert that viewpoint)

Anytime Dyer brings up these points, he gets personally attacked and called a word that starts with R, which is indefensible. The economy is the single most important vehicle for creating social change and our county is failing on the job, bottom line.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous10:59 AM

10:31 AM Dyer has asked the man posting those personal attacks to stop. Hopefully that is enough.

And, yes, posting publically that someone is mentally ill, a criminal, etc. is defamation. Better to just give the man posting it fair warning.

No idea what type of coordination is going on with the attacks from Hans' supporters. Hans just needs to disavow.

  19. Anonymous11:33 AM

11:27 AM Hans is running to come back to the Council. Our County is a mess economically. We're in stagnation.
It's fair to raise questions about Hans' failures. That's not an attack, it's fact.

I'm more concerned about our deficits, business killing regulations and crime than how many votes Hans got last election. Time to move forward.

11:28 AM No idea if Hans is involved or coordinating the attacks here, but it is his supporters. Disavow!

    ReplyDelete
  20. At his next event, someone needs to ask Mr. Dyer why he calls the council he hopes to join corrupt and needing to be jailed, why he blames Mr. Riemer for the county's failures and why he insists that Mr. Riemer's supporters are threatening him.

11:11 AM I doubt the man who anonymously posts here would last long if kept harassing the Post reporter, continuously posting he knows where she lives, talking about her family members, claiming she's a rapist, mentally ill, claiming to watch her at public meetings, etc.

Why accept it when the anonymous man posts that stuff here about Dyer?

    ReplyDelete
  22. How appalling.
You have no idea...none...zero...yet you're perfectly comfortable insisting it's Riemer's supporters.

None. zero. no proof. Absolutely not one iota of evidence.
But you're willing to stick your Anonymous neck out and do the exact thing that you're railing on others for doing to Dyer.

    ReplyDelete
  23. All that information is publicly available through perfectly legal google searches. It's currently plastered on his very own campaign site.

I'm willing to bet that the Post reporter doesn't insult others with low-testosterone jabs and threaten 5-finger death punches when they disagree with her.

11:49 AM If you're claiming there's a time it's ok to falsely claim someone is a rapist, mentally ill, obsess about their family members, continuously tell them you know where they live, post their address and talk about watching them at public meetings? Wow- scary if you think that is acceptable.

You wouldn't last long if you continuously posted the Post's reporters address on every article and did everything I listed above.

Nice political statement by Jeff Bezos. As a business decision...not so much. He looks foolish.

Amazon is one of the few companies we almost have a shot at winning, only because the CEO is politically aligned with our far-left extremist elected officials. Like the "new" Marriott, he might be willing to take a big financial hit to make a political statement.
