There's still no official word on what restaurant will replace the recently-closed Bold Bite at 4903 Cordell Avenue. A source told me a Popeyes fast food restaurant would be the new tenant. Popeyes' media relations department has so far declined to comment on that rumor.
However, there is now a For Lease sign in the window of the space. If Popeyes has leased it, why is it being advertised as available? The plot thickens.

ReplyDeleteOr maybe your "source" was wrong. Again.
I'm over here --------------> still watching you digging that hole. Popcorn, anyone?
ReplyDeleteI’ve said it before the building itself is awful. When a business as strong as Tommy Joe’s is struggling in there I don’t know what will work. The next tenant needs to come in with a large renovation budget to reactivate the space. Horrible flow. Bold bite could succeed in a smaller space.
ReplyDeleteThe building seemed fine to me when it was SmashBurger. I love the windows wrapping around the dining area. It's a great space
DeleteHow come this article isn't tagged under "Bold Bite"?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI hope Dyer does not have a dog. Because he is going to be in a dog-kicking mood when he staggers in at 4 AM, posts his sign pictures, and then learns how badly he got scooped Saturday afternoon.
ReplyDelete9:45: I wasn't scooped - I was duped. I knew about the closures late Wednesday night, but no one would confirm, and as you've seen, the restaurants all stayed open thursday and friday. Everyone mysteriously now ready to confirm conveniently when BB is belatedly ready to publish. Total horse****. Punch yourself to save me some time, dumbass.
ReplyDelete"I knew about the closures late Wednesday night"
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty meaningless unless you actually published it. But you didn't.
"Punch yourself to save me some time, dumbass."
I am glad that you do not have a dog.
So the Roche brothers kept their three restaurants open three days longer, just to spite you?
ReplyDeleteThey posted signs on their front doors about the closure. This hardly seems like hiding things from Dyer or anyone else.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the Roche brothers are part of The Cartel Conspiracy.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen them at the Thursday morning meetings.
;D

You can be sure another shitty place will go in there to continue the long tradition of shitty places right around there
