Federal Realty employee nominated for Bethesda Downtown Plan IAC

Planning Board also to review
Cabin John Village site plan

One of the business community representatives on the Bethesda Downtown Sector Plan Implementation Advisory Committee, Ramsey Meiser, is stepping down. The IAC has nominated Federal Realty Director of Development Mark Hendrickson as his replacement.

Hendrickson has worked at Federal Realty from 2007-2013, and now again since December 2018. He was previously employed by Grosvenor Americas, Renaissance Centro, PN Hoffman and Centex Construction, to name a few. In addition to his credentials, Hendrickson's letter of intent emphasizes the significance of Federal Realty's Bethesda Row property in the downtown community.

The appointment of Hendrickson is subject to approval by the Montgomery County Planning Board, which will review his nomination on April 25. Planning staff are recommending approval of Hendrickson's appointment.

At the same April 25 meeting, the board will also review the site plan for Cabin John Village, which includes a proposed 45000 SF of new retail and restaurant space and 48 townhomes. This is a partial redevelopment of the Cabin John Shopping Center.

The developers will be required to contribute funds for improvements at Cabin John Regional Park, and to extend an existing bike path to the park's entrance along Tuckerman Lane, among other conditions of approval. Planning staff are recommending approval of the site plan.
