"We’re excited to have Serena & Lily open its first DC-area brick-and-mortar shop with us, joining the many other new retail and restaurant concepts in the neighborhood,” Federal Realty's SVP of Leasing Stuart Biel said in a statement this morning. "Bethesda Lane has always been an iconic part of the neighborhood, and we’re confident Serena & Lily will be right at home there, providing the greater community with a sought-after home, décor and design destination."

Now to see it get leased, but this places quite a bit of pressure on Hawkers Asian Street-food to activate Bethesda Lane again. Looks like some nice furniture. Maybe a nice place to browse while waiting to get into Hawkers, that in other cities like Charlotte, sometimes have a two hour wait to get in on Friday and Saturday nights.

DeleteThis is not what Bethesda needs. How about a return to the basics? Hardware, bakeries, bookstores and stuff real people use.
