Antiques shop moves out on Cordell Avenue
A pop-up antiques shop at 4715 Cordell Avenue has closed and vacated. This is in the ground floor of what the Montgomery County Council described in 2006 as an "apartment building for homeless people."
"This is in the ground floor of Cordell Place, permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless persons what Robert Dyer described in 2019 as an 'apartment building for homeless people.'"
It's odd that, several years later, Robbie can't seem to remember the name of this facility. He always calls it "that apartment building for homeless people", rather than "Cordell Place".
7:08: I prefer the Council's designation of "apartment building for homeless people," and the expressions on people's faces at the event when they mentioned it in 2006. I'm quoting the Council, hence the quotation marks.
As Anna noted (in a since-deleted comment), that was 13 years ago. All the Councilmembers of that year are gone.
Imagine how much better your own life could have been 13 years later, if you hadn't allowed yourself to be driven primarily by spite and endless grudges.
And also if you had fixed your circadian rhythm so that you are awake and functioning with the rest of the world.
The problem is that he attempts to use his accident of birth, and complete lack of initiative with regard to his living situation, as a substitute for actual relevant experience, employment and education, or even the temperament needed in someone who aspires to be a leader.
The problem is that he uses "carpetbagger", a term with strong racial and even anti-Semitic overtones, to smear those who work for the benefit of our community, but chose to move here from elsewhere.
1:45pm I didn't know carpetbagger was a dog whistle. Never heard that before.
Let's be honest. If you literally just moved here from Frederick or commute from Frederick and never lived here, you simply don't know the county, past or present, like Robert Dyer.
It's an advantage to be a local guy when you're covering the area.
Dyer has perfect qualifications for public service: local activist, news publisher, life long resident involved in major community issues, etc.

ReplyDeleteAlthough locals refer to it as "the Hobo Hotel".
Well then the MoCoHoBo should fit right in

ReplyDelete9:34 AM Let us know when you produce and record an album or any piece of music.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, you could use an artistic outlet with all that hate and rage! Just sayin...

DeleteMy friend, you don't become a "resident" of the state you were born in.
You lose credibility when you continue to make stuff up.
It's funny that all these years and you are still so bothered by Dyer being a local guy.

ReplyDeleteI feel for you if you're fantasizing about someone, who you've never met, being homeless. And you're excited about that.
Get psych.help ASAP!
12:56 PM Seems odd you're hoping that something terrible happens to someone you never met or know, right?
ReplyDeleteThere are bloggers I don't care for, but I'm not wasting time actively hoping they end up homeless.
Get some fresh air and some perspective.
No one is "bothered by Dyer being a local guy."
